Patterdale Hotel

This is our second stay at The Patterdale and we will be back again. The staff are excellent and the food lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely value for money.

Lovely location with several walks from hotel. Friendly and efficient staff. Warm and well kept rooms. Excellent varied menu for evening meals with good buffet breakfast. Lunch (packed or in hotel) available. Good bar. Great value. Other points worth knowing : * Car park can get full towards the evening. * Discount voucher for lake cruise tickets available from reception. * Local pub nearby welcoming if you want a change of scene.

This hotel has a rating of a 2 star but i would rate it more as a 3 star. The rooms are clean, comfortable and warm and although not super modern are not out dated. The service throughout our stay was excellent. From the check in to dinner service the staff were incredibly polite, friendly and helpful and we even had our room cleaned even though we only stayed 2 nights. The breakfast quality was excellent and the three course evening meal was fantastic with excellence choice and perfect service. The hotel location is excellent with many local walks from the hotel and next to the bus stop. The free parking is also great.

Excellent value for money. We booked a deluxe double room and got a clean,comfy room with beautiful views.Attentive, friendly staff. Three course evening meal and breakfast included in the price. £94 for us both. To top it all they had evening entertainment which was superb.Would definitely go back.

Enjoyed a two night stay with good weather and excellent walking opportunities. We found the staff friendly and helpful; the food and service were all good. Hope to return.

Nothing but a lake

Great food and service hotels decor is tired 😴 but comfortable, it's s great base I've been twice and will carry on using this hotel

Room 211 near boiler house restricted view but ok for a short stay.

On check-in immediately asked to choose an evening meal from an extremely limited gluten-free menu. On returning on the second evening at 8-30pm we were accosted by the manager of the hotel ( who did not at the time bother to introduce himself) asking why we were so late returning. We do not expect our movements to be checked by hotel staff, especially when we have deliberately not entered details in the walking book. Tables in the dining room were so close together that it felt uncomfortable.

Good basic hotel ideal for a walking holiday. Staff are very helpful it's just a shame the tools are a bit tired and could do with updating. Tea and coffee in rooms is not what I would expect, coffee was undrinkable. Breakfast is brilliant and sets you up for the day. There is also a packed lunch available which would be useful for walkers. All in all a good hotel.
