Merchants Manor

We stayed at Merchants Manor after a long overnight journey from the South Coast. We were very tired and wanted an early night. Unfortunately there was a function downstairs which was really loud and stopped us from sleeping. We asked to have the music turned down but nothing happened. In my view guests should be warned when booking that there is going to be a function. We wouldn't have stayed there if we'd know that. It felt that hotel guests played second fiddle to function guests.

Superb room and staffs, nice location, good facilities (swiming pool, streaming and fitness). However, it was a bot lound because they had christmas party till midnight.

the room was cosy although the TV was quite small. the bathroom was adequate but the toilet roll holder was hanging off general cleanliness was acceptable and in general it was a pleasant stay

Single bed was old and squeaky!

Bit expensive for the size of room and breakfast was a bit chaotic.

Excellent friendly helpful staff who went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Food excellent.However the Spa facilities were very disappointing.The pool area was drab and dated, the Pool changing rooms were in a very poor condition.

Great stay, good location and value for money. Huge jacuzzi!

Handy location if spending much of your time out if town as on the edge near Dracaena Avenue ( the main drag). Parking was a problem at first because of a function at the hotel but managed to park each night. Most nights there were different coach parties staying but thus caused no problem other than parking. Rooms were very good , limited TV channels (no Sky). Breakfasts very good and the one Dinner we had in the a Restaurant was very tasty. But menu choice was restricted and had to ask for vegetarian options hence general choice to eat elsewhere.

Stayed at the hotel for one night. Checked in and woman who was checking me in was friendly and attentive. Someone who looked like the chef was sat next to her on the computer looking pretty miserable and unhappy. Hotel having work done outside but that was fine, rooms updated but still a way to go if going to charge £109 for a room
