Uplands Inn Cartmel

We really look forward to going back to Uplands Inn, staff couldn't be more friendly which makes it nice and relaxed, food is great (we're vegetarian), rooms are very comfortable and pretty, and it's in a beautiful location. There's a lovely seating area in the garden when the weather's fine as it was this weekend. There are nice walks from the hotel and our dogs enjoy themselves at Uplands as much as we do. We'll be back again!

The property is in a great location with amazing views.

We stayed here around six years ago and loved it! Six years later, the owners have changed around three years ago, but the place looks the same and needs an update in the bar and restaurant. The food was average compared to before, and there were lots of cobwebs at a high level. We stayed in room “Kent,” which had a really noisy water pump that served our room and the room next door. When next door decided to have a shower at 6 am on Sunday morning, that was our wake-up call!!

Fantastic location, friendly staff and a great room. I normally struggle to sleep on holiday, but this was not an issue here. Every morning, I woke to a quiet and chilled view. Stayed 6 nights, and with the amount of local attractions, I could have stayed another 6. Meals are well-cooked and generous. Draft beers on tap, cracking Sunday roast and mid week BBQ. Really, what more would you want?

Lovely little hotel 15 mins walk from Cartmel. For the price it was amazing value for money and the breakfast was the best I've had in years! Stopped here twice now and will stay again.
