The hotel has a lot of character, the evening dinner was very pleasant and the bar staff were very friendly and helpful.

The mattress was heavily stained and the room was a bit noisy until later in the evening. The old Scottish chap who served breakfast was definitely a little strange.

Great location

Room was very small, there were biscuit crumbs on the chest of drawers. There was no where to plug the kettle in without putting it on the floor. The only space to hang clothes was on coat pegs on the cheapest metal coat hangers. The hot water was not consistent and the temperature changed part way through a shower. There was really nothing to like about the accommodation, it is beyond tired. We know The George is due to be refurbished- it is so ready for it.

It had a nice atmosphere

The floor was very uneven, the bed wasn’t comfy, the shower took ages to heat up and I could hear lots of noise from other rooms and outside
