The Lamb Inn

Great location when staying in Burford. We really enjoyed the breakfast, and while the property does not have a parking area on-site, they partner with a nearby hotel to accommodate your car if needed.

As expected, the buildings in the area are old. As a result, the floor in our room was quite sloped. Didn’t bother us, but might be an issue for others.

I’m not a firm believer of a service charge added to my bill , and I think the vast majority of reviewers will feel the same, considering it’s been a debated topic in the press over the last twelve months. The Lamb Inn must take serious note, at the fact that their 10% discretionary service charge awareness is , not only missing from their menu, it’s not either mentioned by the waiting staff, or displayed on a visible sign within the establishment. According to consumer protection regulations this must be made clear to all patrons. Digressing from this avoidable situation, the fayre was ok, but nothing special. I feel a rating of three is more than generous.

It is a lovely and characterful hotel, rooms clean and very comfortable. Great location.

Whilst some of the staff were lovely there was one lady who my friends and I took exception too! We were sitting in the cosy lounge area after having had supper and the fire was going out (it was only circa 9pm). One of my friends went to put a log on the fire and was 'reprimanded' by this lady!! She then went on to say that logs can't be added after 9pm as the fires have to go out before the staff can leave!!! Mmmmm....not impressed!! Guests comforts should come first!!

It was off the main drag of burford which was nice The staff were extremely friendly and kind and quite attentive. I wanted a quiet, quaint place to stay for a weekend out of the city . The room was dead quiet at night which is great .

It’s a super old property so some things will seem odd but that’s part of the charm
