Haad Yao Bay View Resort and Spa

I have been a regular guest at this hotel for about three years and always stayed for long periods of time, usually one to three months. Until now, I genuinely loved this place and recommended it to others. Unfortunately, this stay completely changed my opinion. I booked and paid for 26 nights but checked out early with 11 nights left because the situation became unbearable. Out of those 15 nights, there were serious noise disturbances during 9 nights. The main issue was repeated late-night noise caused by different guests. Groups and individuals were loud at night, talked outside, played music, had phone and video calls, slammed doors and ignored quiet hours. I tried addressing them myself, which resulted in being ignored, laughed at or treated disrespectfully. This felt unsafe and uncomfortable. O course I also tried addressing this to the reception multiple times and reported it repeatedly, but there was never a lasting solution. The disturbances always involved different guests, and I was told theres not much they can do. I changed rooms once and was offered other rooms later on, but all of them were clearly located in areas where nighttime noise was to be expected again. My own suggestions and messages regarding this were partly ignored. I understand that noise can come from guests. However, a hotel can and must enforce basic nighttime rules, especially when the same problem keeps occurring. In this case, that did not happen. What made the situation even more frustrating was that some of my WhatsApp messages to the hotel about noise issues and room change requests were not even read or answered. When I finally said I could not continue staying under these conditions, I was told there was nothing that could be done and that a refund was impossible. I understand that refunds are usually not granted. However, this was not because I changed my travel plans or other reasons, but because the hotel failed to ensure restful nights and to handle an ongoing issue appropriately, so some goodwill toward a long-term guest would have been appropriate. Nine disturbed nights out of fifteen is not acceptable. I tried to message the management directly but got ignored here too. I can no longer recommend this hotel to anyone who values sleep, calm and professional guest management.

DO NOT GO THERE… The woman at reception was rude and abusive to everyone who approached her about problems with the hot water in their accommodation, when we got there we were told our Beachfront room we booked 6 months earlier was being renovated so we could have one 6 flights of stairs up which was Backpacker accommodation at best, when asked why they didn’t contact me she said she emailed Booking .com which I asked to see the email, which she couldn’t. We refused to stay there and while waiting for our ferry back to Koh Samui we went for a walk and noticed The pool was green and filthy, I asked the Barman if he could make a drink and he just shook his head and said he had no ingredients for a cocktail. We were promised a full refund but we we tried they declined.. still fighting with Booking.com to get refund.. WILL NEVER GO BACK.

My son and friends made a reservation through Booking and paid a head but once they have arrived to the hotel, they realized that because of the stip location, one of them can’t get there. When they spoke with the hotel manager he promised to cancel the reservation and return the money. However, the money has not been returned.

Great hotel all in all. Our room was good, the staff were awesome. It was convenient have two stores on site and the restaurant was awesome and good pricing. Breakfast buffet included was definitely a bonus

The stuff manger kicked me out because i told her that someone from the hotel took both of my pants that was outside to dry . The manger didn’t even want to listen and after I left she wanted to kick me out at night. Worst service don’t recommend..

Helt okej hotell vid få nätter, det är många jobbiga trappor. Sängarna var helt ok. Personalen hade ingen service minde över huvud taget. Stranden i övrigt är helt fantastisk, finns några härliga restauranger!!

I know the hotel wont reply to this review, as they haven't replied to any others. Upon arrival, we were told by reception that they never received our booking but when i showed them confirmation, they said they just received the email but the room we booked was not available until the next day so we had to stay in another room which was not as nice. The hotel needs to look deeply at their staff, they are rude, unhelpful and never smile. It is such a shame as the hotel is in a perfect position but visitors dont appear to want to eat or drink there. Also, be aware that if you ask reception to arrange transfer back to the ferry, they will leave you waiting for half hour. I will definitely return to Haad Yao but not this hotel

Haad Yao area is wonderful. But the hotel has issues. Not the end of the world if you stay here but do your research. There are much better options. PROS: Haad Yao bay is lovely/swimmable/safe. Rooms are clean. Nice breakfast for 150 Baht. Nice views. Decent price. CONS: Bayview Hotel is 12 stories and no elevator. Wanna go to the beach? You gotta plan/pack like it’s a day trip. Rooms are decent at best. Staff are rough around the edges, stressed. Not the end of the world if this is your only option. Do not worry about the severely bad 1 star reviews, but also you should ignore the 5-star reviews. This is a real 3-stars. Hope this helps :)
