KTDC Tea County Munnar

We spent two days at KTDC Tea County, and I must say it was a pleasant surprise. Having stayed at few state-run TDC hotels before, I had no expectations, but this property is unexpectedly well-maintained and stands far above its counterparts in other states. The interiors have a lovely old-style charm that fits the hill station vibe. The room feature modern, well-equipped bathroom which was clean and functional. I particularly loved the layout; there is a cosy sitting area at the end of the room and a private balcony. The location is superb, situated right in the heart of Munnar, making it very convenient to get around. The property itself is beautiful, featuring a well-maintained garden integrated with a small tea plantation. While the staff was polite and the service was good, it was a bit slow. If you’re ordering food, I’d suggest doing it a little in advance. The breakfast buffet was another low. Not much options in buffet spread and it was repeatative on each day. We found same items both the days. So there is a great amount of scope of improvement here.

Location is nice. However service is very poor. Food variety is limited and average in quality.

Our stay at Tea County, Munnar was absolutely delightful. The property is set in a stunning location with breathtaking hilly views all around—waking up to mist-covered mountains and lush greenery was truly refreshing. The rooms were well maintained, clean, and comfortable, making our stay very relaxing. The staff were also very supportive and attentive, always ready to help and ensure everything was taken care of smoothly. Overall, a wonderful place to stay in Munnar. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy scenic beauty along with a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Tea County is a peaceful oasis away from the hustle, hustle and noise of Munnar. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is very good - lots of veg and non-veg Indian options plus some western. Loved the oats / porridge with honey and cut fruit and the masala omlette for breakfast.

The bed was great - generously sized and about the right firmness for a good night's sleep. The duvet however was a little narrow (same width as the bed) - a wider duvet would have avoided the duvet wars in the night.
