We enjoyed our stay in our old Victorian B&B in Wandermere. Doreen was most hospitable and the breakfast was great.

owner very help full . great room sleeped 3 adults. very close to shops / resturants / pubs , all in 5min walk 30 min walk to lake / hills great location will stay again

Would have been better if rooms were provided with small fan during hot weather.

It was centrally located a very short walk from the train/bus station and the Tourist bureau. The owners were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean, well appointed and comfortable. They have a lovely garden outside. We didn't mind taking the two flights of stairs to the rooms - nice view from there.

En-suite small and very clean and adequate for a short stay as in our case 3 days. Room very clean but slightly on the small side. Wardrobe space fine, again for a short stay. Coffee, tea and milk supplies good and refilled when needed. Very good breakfast cooked by Doreen and if something not required or wanted, she will cook alternatives as in my case, I don't eat fried eggs, so Doreen cooked scrambled eggs which went down a treat. Doreen very chatty, friendly and informative what to see and do etc and also recommended eating places. Overall, College House very clean and extremely quiet - no traffic noise which made sleeping a delight!

Excellent all round - great location; lovely room with great view; friendly, helpful hosts; tasty and large breakfast. Nice cat.

Windemere is congested and parking at a premium. Off street parking available but tight. But it is a great location for walks near Grasmere Ulswater and Ambleside. Great breakfasts and recommendations for local restaurants.

The welcome was warm and the services provided were good, but we had to climb up to an attic room that was really cramped with sloping roofs which were ideally positioned to bang your head on...which we did. And the view was the rear yard. The wash basin was within the room but the shower and toilet were a converted cupboard so you had to leave the toilet room to go back into the bedroom to wash your hands. We cannot say it was value for money.

A very pleasant stay and a good breakfast. The lady at the hotel was very friendly
