George Inn, Mere

Amazing location, staff were very welcoming and friendly, rooms were lovely and clean, definitely recommend this place, we had a fantastic time.

the staff were friendly and efficient we were given the family room which was very spacious and bathroom had a freestanding bath tub which was pretty. the dinner food was so nice and nicely cooked/flavored/presented and generous portion. the only downside was that the water coming out from the taps had some black bits but given the age of the building that’s probably understandable.

The staff were super friendly and Harriet the young lady who served us breakfast the days we stayed was really really good, nothing was too much trouble.

Room was lovely hotel was lovely however the heating was not on in our room so was a bit cold

The room was quaint if a little uneven! I suppose a 400 year old pub has its quirks, such as a sloping floor. The beds were extremely soft so my back did suffer for it. Peaceful though even though we were above the main entrance to the pubs smoking area. Shower could have done with being a bit more powerful but only a small annoyance. Breakfast was COVID friendly which meant that if you didn’t ask you didn’t get. My teenage boy asked for croissants and that’s exactly what he got. No butter or jam, just 2 warm croissants! Like I say, if you don’t ask you don’t get! A really a lovely quaint pub with all the character and quirks of an old building.

Lovely little Pub B&B. Very old and quirky. Lots of character. The food is brilliant. We look forward to eating here every year. The meals are big, hot and delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you again, see you next Christmas

A one night stay to go to a family party in Mere. Room was comfortable and clean .
