George Inn, Mere

Excellent little Inn, very helpful and friendly.

Very friendly welcome. Large quiet room. Excellent breakfast. Helpful friendly staff. Automatic bathroom light unnecessary as was over-warm room. A great find and would certainly return.

Nice cosy pub. A little tricky with myself being disabled, but ok. Knock I had was there was no heating control in rooms, which were right over bar. I found it stifling warm at night, and road was busy enough not to be able to open window. Everything else was wonderful though, and I would very much recommend this, if one wants a quiet pub in a small village

Lovely old pub with nice rooms - good value for money

Room was very nice & comfortable. No reception on the TV & WIFI kept dropping out in our room. We did ask if anything could be done but the problem persisted.

We loved it this however is not your normal run of the meal place. This is a very old pub restaurant with the rooms located above. The room was unique built into the loft of the building sloping floors but very nice and clean. You do have to access it up some stairs so if your not into that then that would be an issue. The owners were fantastic very friendly and helpful the food was the best we had all trip. We stayed in few B&Bs as well as full on hotels and this was one of our favorites. We would defiantly stay here again but we loved the old world feel and small town atmosphere.

Pleasant location . The hourly clock chimes may annoy some people. Good food

Had an overnight stay after visiting relatives in Mere. Clean comfy room, but the clocktower which chimes every hour was right outside our window so didn't get to sleep til after 2am! Otherwise everything OK, good cooked to order breakfast, friendly checkin and checkout. Would stay again if relatives booked up!

It made a good stop off on our way to Plymouth and gave us time to visit Stourhead gardens. The town was nice to look round.

Good value for money, lovely breakfast, efficient service, great location - would thoroughly recommend.
