"Very welcoming hotel in a castle town"

10.0

My husband and I very much enjoyed a 5-night stay at this boutique hotel which was well-located near the train station in Cochem, a German castle town. Our room had a view of the Mosel river, and the hotel was located in a quiet residential neighborhood that was only a short walk to the town's main activities. The staff members were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, and the room was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and served in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Every effort was made to make our stay enjoyable and to make us feel at home!

"Fantastic Hotel!"

10.0

This hotel is amazing. We had the top floor which gave us spectacular views of the castle and the river. The location is wonderful, within walking distance of everything. The building is charming and the room is modern, large and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious with abundant variety.

"Villa Vinum Cochem"

10.0

This hotel was an old manor house for a wine merchant and was built around 1890. The present owner purchased it recently and has remodeled and modernized the spacious rooms. The rooms are large compared to European standards.

"Charming Unique Hotel"

10.0

Extremely welcoming staff. Showed us around the property and to our room. Loved the eclectic decor and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely balcony attached to the room. Only complaint I have is that the shower didn't seem entirely clean and the bathroom smelled a bit musty. The rest of the bathroom and the room was very clean though and well cared for. Would stay here again.

"Good location and parking."

6.0

We did not receive the room that we booked. We were given a bottle of wine, but no price adjustment. The owner was helpful in assisting in carrying up our luggage the flights of steps. The street noise from our room was bad. Had we received the room we booked, our room would have been to the back of the hotel and not facing the street right under our window.

"Charming hotel, but with ups and downs"

8.0

Let me start by saying that I have never written a review for a hotel before. However, after our stay at this hotel, we felt compelled to share our experience. We think future guests should be aware of the following: 1) Be prepared to sleep on a concrete mattress; 2) Make sure you are really friendly with your travel companion, especially since the bathroom is glass and pretty much see-through; 3) spotty WI-Fi connection; 4) Make sure you lay a pile of towels in front of the shower door before you turn on the water. Otherwise, you may have a flood in your room. Despite these points, the hotel offers many advantages. The location is great, about a 5 minute walk to the center. Having a balcony is also a wonderful feature - as long as you ask for a room facing the river, rather than the back of the hotel. Breakfast was good, everything you need. The hotel owner was really nice though, and tried his best to accommodate everyone. Cochem is such a beautiful town, and we will most definitely return in the future...but probably in a different hotel.
