My stay at the Cuthbert House Inn in Beaufort, SC, was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with genuine Southern hospitality and charm. The historic home is stunning—beautifully maintained with a perfect blend of classic elegance and modern comfort. The room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, offering a cozy retreat with a breathtaking view of the water. I especially appreciated the attention to detail—from the luxurious linens to the thoughtful amenities provided. Each morning started with a delicious homemade breakfast in the bright dining room or out on the porch, with friendly conversation and excellent service. The evening social hour with wine and hors d’oeuvres was a lovely touch, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where guests could connect and unwind. The location is ideal—just a short stroll to downtown Beaufort’s shops, galleries, and restaurants, yet peacefully tucked away by the water. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel at home, offering great recommendations and truly caring about each guest’s experience. If you’re looking for a charming, relaxing, and authentic Lowcountry getaway, I can’t recommend the Cuthbert House highly enough. I’m already looking forward to returning!

We just had 2 wonderful nights at this BnB. This historic home is beautifully kept and the rooms thoughtful appointed. We stayed in the Coastal room with featured a very comfortable seating area plus some outdoor seating to watch the world go by. Karen hosted for the duration of our stay and could not have done more to make us comfortable and ensure we enjoyed our visit. Including texting us after our departure with some lunch recommendations for Hilton Head where we were taking a day trip. The happy hour is a great benefit, allowing social time with the other guests without feeling like you’re now part of a group. We would highly encourage a stay here!

Everything about The Cuthbert House exceeded my expectations! Despite the impeccable setting, our experience was anything but ‘stuffy.’ Karen’s warm greeting set the tone—this was going to be an outstanding experience. She welcomed us to our suite which was spacious, comfortable—and had a great view of the water. The relaxed afternoon wine hour gave us a chance to catch our breath after an afternoon kicking around downtown Beaufort. Breakfast, complete with French pressed coffee, fortified us for a wonderful walking tour by Janet. (Check out her tour!) Karen also made a point to recommend the Cypress Wetlands—not to be missed! My only regret is not staying more than one night. Next time!

The Beautiful Cuthbert House overlooks The water and has a large front porch That is do relaxing. The service is excellent and everyone is so attentive. A wonderful treat for breakfast Every morning and delicious tidbits for cocktail hour. Our kind size bed Was very comfortable and cozy. Thus was our second visit and will not be our last. A wonderful town with great restaurants and a lovely water front.

We have just spent 2 nights here at Cuthbert House. Absolutely faultless. The property has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and is immaculate. The warm and generous hospitality offered by Suzanne, Chris, Yvette, John and team is second to none. From arrival to departure nothing was too much trouble. We took bikes out to explore which I recommend. The cocktail hour with canapés and excellent wines was a highlight. This is the very best of luxury B&B’s. We hope to return and would highly recommend for a stay in Beaufort.

Everything about our experience at The Cuthbert House Inn was extraordinary. We arrived just in time for the evening hors d'oeuvres hour and were warmly welcomed by the charming owners, Chris and Suzanne, whom we saw regularly throughout our stay. Their hospitality, along with the kindness and helpfulness of Robert, Karen, and Evette, made us feel truly at home. Our room was pristine—immaculately cleaned and beautifully decorated with a thoughtful blend of antiques and modern comforts. Upon entering, we were greeted with chocolates from the very store Tom Hanks frequented while filming Forrest Gump, as well as a personalized note with the next day’s weather, sunrise, and sunset times—such lovely, thoughtful touches. The inn itself is a stunning example of preserving historical integrity while incorporating modern amenities. Built in 1790, the house retains its original charm with period furnishings, yet feels comfortably updated. Attention to detail is evident in every corner. Breakfast each morning was a real highlight—a delicious buffet with a rotating hot item, all served in the beautiful main dining room. The pastries, made in-house by the chef, were incredible, and he kindly accommodated my dairy allergy without hesitation. And the French press coffee? Amazing. I loved it so much, I brought home a bag of their custom blend for my family. For those traveling with someone with mobility issues, be aware that most rooms are up a flight of stairs, though there are three rooms on ground level. Breakfast is served on the main floor, which is accessed by stairs at the front or back of the house. My 80-year-old mother chose to climb the stairs each day, but I’m sure the staff would have allowed us to bring a tray to her room if needed. The views from the house are absolutely breathtaking—directly overlooking the bay with sailboats drifting by, framed by live oaks draped in Spanish moss and resurrection ferns. At times, it truly felt like we were looking at a painting. Another bonus: the house is within easy walking distance to Beaufort’s charming downtown, full of great restaurants, shops, and galleries. You can leave your car parked and soak in the local atmosphere on foot. If you're considering a stay in Beaufort, The Cuthbert House Inn is an unforgettable choice—gracious hospitality, incredible food, thoughtful accommodations, and picture-perfect surroundings. Highly, highly recommend.

We have stayed at almost all the Bed and Breakfast in Beaufort, and the Cuthbert House was by far the top experience to date. Excellent staff and Excellent home with a lot of history and Charm. I would suggest this as a 1st choice for a trip to the South Carolina Low Country!
