Tropical Inn

On check in,we were floored by the price of the damage deposit, $250. We were on the last but of money from our trip to my wife's sisters funeral. On the last night of our trip a $250 room was a kick in the teeth. Unfortunately we had pre paid for the room,otherwise we would have looked elsewjere

The pool and slides should probably be shut down. The slides are so rusted and worn out. The beds were terrible with a flat sheet and decorative blanket to sleep with. The fridge stopped working in the middle of the night forcing us to throw out our food

The room smelled of mildew and wasn't very clean. Thin walls let in a lot of noise from other guests and the outside.

Was good and very quiet

No AC in room or no cot available was uncomfortable warm …. front desk very friendly and lent us their fan but still to warm for comfort

Room had stale smelling air. AC did not work plus fan didnt even work. Bed very uncomfortable. Would not recommend staying here unless on a low budget. Smittys was convenient and great

The room had no air conditioning and it is quite old and dated. The room also smelled like smoke

The staff were awesome. Very friendly and very accommodating. The hotel was probably amazing in 1984…not the worst I’ve stayed in but very run down. The rooms don’t seem to actually have A/C…the temperature wasn’t horrible but they were extremely humid so it felt HOT and there was absolutely nothing we could do to adjust that. We wonder if they’ve kept the hotel name (Tropical) to stay consistent with the room temperatures…The kids loved the pool and the slides were a lot of fun. I think I’d sum it up with saying the staff are trying their best with a very dated and run down hotel. At least we didn’t pay a lot to stay there.

Had a great time with my family, staff was friendly.
