"Varied rooms close to ferry. Very friendly staff."

8.0

2 minute taxi from ferry. Varied rooms from budget chalets (mosquito net over bed with basic shared cold shower and loo) to honeymoon (ensuite with hot shower, loo). 5mins walk to market, supermarket. Free snorkel, mask & flippers, kayak to use from jetty. Coral reef on site. Very friendly & helpful staff. 10 min walk to ferry and another short 10 minutes to more shops. Car hire on site. Scooter hire nearby (just starting as we left). Cannot hire push bikes on island. Need to bring over x Apia but would be a great way to move round the island - 140 km ring road great condition. Restaurant on site. B&B - breakfast local fruit plus pancakes or fruit or eggs etc. I am gluten free and dairy free. Limited diet for me but aided with soya milk x supermarket enjoyed fabulous tropical smoothies. Great place to relax.

"Don't set your expectations high & you'll be OK "

6.0

Lusia's is really cute and we had a good time. Lagoon is awesome for swimming and snorkeling (if you get to use the gear, lol!) Rooms are comfortable and clean! Disappointed in a few things: they advertise TV in the rooms but this is not true. Found 1 room that did have it & only got 1 or 2 channels. They should not advertise what they don't provide! The have complimentary "kayak" and "snorkeling gear" available?? Turns out there are only 2 of each available so it is kind of a joke to actually get to use them! They provide a complimentary breakfast, LOL. They have a $$ limit so you have like 3 items on the menu actually available as "complimentary". The food in general is not really great and is overpriced! Got a salad with dinner and asked for dressing. They told me it was tossed in dressing. It was bone dry. Pointed this out and the response was "welcome to Samoa". Better response would have been "welcome to Lusia's"! The rooms are overpriced as well especially considering all the things they say they provide that they really do not. We paid only about $15 USD/night more at a gorgeous resort (Sheraton/Aggie Grey) where the rooms were top notch, food was yummy and everything was as advertised or better and complimentary breakfast meant a full breakfast buffet with tons of options! I know it may not sound like it but I would stay at Lusia's again! Would just set my expectations properly knowing what I now know!

"A Great Stay"

10.0

We had a great stay at Lusias. Here you will find the most amazing staff, so helpful, attentive and professional. They made our stay wonderful. The chalet with its own ladder down to the water was great as we love swimming. Highly recommend staying at Lusias great value and we had an amazing time in this lovely setting.

"Authentic chalet over a beautiful lagoon!"

8.0

We stayed here for 3 nights and could have stayed longer...the staff were lovely and the lagoon was beautiful to swim and kayak in. They have a deck to sunbathe on and jump into the lagoon from. The accomodation and shower/toilet facilities are basic but it's peacefull and scenic...just what we wanted 😃

"Great place to stay in Savaii"

8.0

Lousia's is a great place to stay. I arrived expecting very budget accommodation but was very surprised once we arrived. We had an over water fale with en suite. The room was large, air conditioned, secure, clean and comfortable. The best part however was the overwater balcony! The lagoon is extremely beautiful and the views are second to none. Lovely turquoise water and plenty of fish to feed from the comfort of your own balcony. The staff are great and the resturaunt has plenty of great food on offer, both traditional Samoan and contemporary. The bar is well stocked but not much to do after dinner unless you like pool. Also, the resort offers car hire at good rates. Highly recommend as a base camp on the beautiful island of Savaii

"Quirky , close to Ferry, but DONT break anything!!"

6.0

Family of four- stayed here for one night while exploring Savaii. Handy to ferry and large vege/ food/ handi crafts market and bus station. Not so good for partially disabled/ young kids wanting to swim as access to water is pretty hairy and deep so not possible . No beach as such. Fine for all others. Stayed in large two storey block building rather than the cool looking fale's on stilts over the lagoon. Room was fine and clean enough, restaurant had the best choice of local food we struck on our 7 days in Samoa. Although one of the kids accidentally broke a wine glass and we were billed $20 Tala ( about $13 n.z.) for it !! Pretty steep and have never struck this policy anywhere else. Samoa is relatively and surprisingly expensive, more expensive than N.Z. to eat out- food is pricey at restaurants, and you will get charged for all sorts of crazy things while travelling there as we found out! (Beaches etc.)But cant begrudge the locals trying to make a buck, its all worth it for the colour warmth and beauty of the place.
