Since I last stayed 3 years ago it’s gone downhill, have to search for staff for drinks by the pool, dirty pool towels, food not great

The hotel is in a great quiet and private location but close enough to the beach, shops and restaurants. It provides a lovely cultural ambience where the staff are always super friendly and helpful. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. The art works on display around the resort and in the gallery are delightful. Our room was spacious and clean. The twin beds were large and very comfortable. The inclusive breakfast menu was varied and the dishes were presented to a high standard. Loved the daily wellness juice. It is a well priced hotel with value for money. Loved my 9 nights as part of the Sudamala family which I found hard to leave when the time came around. This was my second time staying at Sudamala and look forward to my next stay.

Durch die halboffene Bauweise des Bades gibt es in dem Raum keine Klimatisierung. Bei der Ankunft hatten wir um Gepäcktransport gebeten, da wir auch 45 Minuten nach Ankunft unser Gepäck noch nicht hatten, haben wir die Koffer selbst an der Rezeption abgeholt. Bei der Abreise hat sich das ganze leider wiederholt, wir hatten am Vortag die Abholung angefordert, leider ist diese nicht rechtzeitig vor dem Eintreffen das Taxis erfolgt. Erschwerend kam hinzu das unser Zimmer im ersten Stock war und es keinen Aufzug gab.

The main entrance and central garden was the highlight. The large trees and grass surrounded by grapevines overhanging the walkways framing the park-like area was stunning. The breakfast was another highlight. The pool area was okay, but nothing to rave about. We really liked the location.

The whole place needed a good scrub (gurny) both inside and outside. Our garden room was particularly bad. There was mould everywhere. The curtains, lamp shades, walls, bathroom and furnishings were mouldy. The room had a terrible smell from the deodoriser that the hotel and installed to cover up the damp mouldy smell. We got it turned off and it took about 24 hours to improve and then it was mainly a damp smell, which was actually better than the deodoriser. The furniture in the room was stained and uncomfortable. We didn't sit in the courtyard as it was dark, damp and had mosiquitoes. Nothing dried well in the courtyard and there was nothing to hang wet clothing or towels on outside. The bathroom was open to the outdoors and therefore had mosiquitoes as well. The cane blinds for privacy in the bathroom were falling apart. They should install flyscreens instead. The silicone around the sink was mouldy and the sink drain was disgustingly filthy. The tiles were old, some loose and the grout was old, missing or dirty. The walk-in wardrobe had a huge hanging space but only had 4 coat hangers and no shelving so it was not a practical space at all. Simply put, I tried to spend as little time as possible inside our room as it made me feel sick. I assume the garden rooms are worse as they don't get adequate ventilation or sunlight. If I was paying $40 AUD per night, I probably wouldn't have been so disappointed but since I was paying $200 AUD per night, I expected much better than this. All the little extra touches you get for this kind of price meant nothing to me when I had to put up with such a terrible environment to sleep in.

This amazing hotel is quiet and the staff provide fantastic service…nothing is too much trouble. The gardens, furnishings and artwork are beautiful. We have stayed here many times and the hotel keeps growing more and more timeless and serene.

We had a fantastic time at the SUDAMALA RESORT SANUR and all the staff we encountered were all thoroughly professional and helpful. We will certainly look to visit again sometime in the future.

That we had to stay in another location on our first night. We.met with the manager who agreed to refund us for that night..we are still awaiting the refund

An absolutely delightful hotel. Although in a busy area, the atmosphere once you entered inside was one of serenity, calm and Balinese hospitality. The room was traditional but with all the modern features you could want. The staff were so welcoming, warm and helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. There was the additional unexpected joy of the artwork, both modern and antique which was spread throughout the hotel. I couldn’t recommend it enough.
