Sudamala Resort, Sanur, Bali

Beautiful resort in a great location. From the moment we stepped into Sudemala we felt welcomed and special. The resort itself is stunning, fabulous pool, great chill out areas, beautiful sculptures and great food. The staff are exceptional and make you feel right at home. Highly recommend you stay at this fantastic resort, cannot say enough about it and will definitely return if back in Sanur.

We had looked at the Sudamala rooms on previous occasions and due to another hotel not being up to standard this time, we changed to the Sudamala and so glad we did. The standard rooms which are usually upstairs and spacious have an excellent bed and spacious bathroom and balcony. The grounds are spacious and the pool area very inviting. Customer service was fantastic. Breakfast is el carte with lots of variety, ( no normal Bali breakfast here ). The Sudamala is a 10 minute walk to the beach. What surprised us was the surrounding area with lots of great restaurants and shops and best of all, hardly no traffic as it is a one way street. We look forward to coming back next year. Highly recommended.

I love Sudamala Resort. I want to recommend it but I also want to keep it a secret. The gardens, rooms and food are amazing. The staff are just so friendly and welcoming. I cannot wait to return. Thank you Sudamala for a wonderful stay.

- Staff made early check-in after long flight possible - Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated - My room was on the ground floor and I loved the half-outside shower - Amazing breakfast

- Due to the open shower there were many mosquitos - Bicycles for rent are too small for tall European tourists

We had a garden suite, and ours had a daybed in it that was great, they only have few with the daybed! Room is large and dressing room and bathroom off it also large and then shower and toilet indoor/outdoor also very spacious, was great. There are mosquito nets to have around the bed and lamps which create a nice ambience. Bed was very comfortable, had great sleeps, and room is very dark with blinds shut which helps sleep, and enjoyed the bed turndown and biscuits and story that are left every evening. There are barking dogs that you get used to, and they don't bark all the time and some loud music from nearby venues that we could hear, but no sounds from other guests/rooms. Lovely grounds and pool. Pool is a bit warm for my liking but about 25m long so could have a swim. Spa was good, pricey compared to other spas but they regularly offer a 30% discount on massages so took up that offer. I did the Fri morning yoga with a very good experienced teacher, wish it was more often, but went to Power of Now a few times. The lounges on the beach were grood, nice part of beach with warrangs nearby for lunch, it is about an 8 min walk to beach. Breakfast was good and you can ask for what you want if you want to change the menu a bit. We were there for 2 weeks visiting family nearby and really enjoyed our stay.

I would have liked some more shelving in the dressing room to put things and more hangers. Also some hooks on the wall for hanging things in bathroom would be good and I asked for an extra 'clothes horse' to put my wet bathers and anything I washed out on and they gave me one and that was great. There is one but it has the bathroom towels on. I kept the extra one in the shower area and worked well. We had a lamp that could only be turned on or off by screwing the bulb, I did report it but didn't get a lamp with a switch. But all minor things, overall very happy with everything.
