Had an excellent overnight stay here and could not fault it - the room was comfortable, welcoming and clean, the breakfast was lovely, the location was ideal for the event we attended at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre and, last but not least, the owner was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. Would highly recommend The Meltham and will definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. It felt like we were staying with friends/family rather than a b&b! Breakfast was lovely as well. Very close to the open air theatre if this is your reason for your visit.

Friendly and good service, nice room and good breakfast. Well situated for North Shore and Peasholm Park. I bit of a treck to the harbour and South Shore , but manageable if reasonable fit.

Just returned from a short break at the Meltham. The guest house was very easy to find with ample parking, and was spotlessly clean and is brilliantly located for both North & South Bay. We booked the family for 2 adults & 3 children. It was a really pleasant surprise to find a guest house that could accommodate a family of 5. We’d looked all over and most options meant booking 2 separate rooms. The room was perfect, we couldn’t have asked for more. The beds were very comfy, lots of clean towels were available, and lots of sockets to charge all the electronic devices!! There was a night light which is great if you’ve children who aren’t that keen on the dark yet! The other guests were very considerate, and despite there being a number of other rooms occupied, it was very quiet. The kitchen in the family suite is a great addition too, the little fridge was really useful. The games room was a welcome distraction for 3 energetic children, and 1 young at heart adult (when they discovered the Sega Mega Drive to relive their youth!!) The owner, Alison was very attentive, welcoming & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was served at a time of our choosing, and was perfectly cooked. Lots of toast and juice, and all the food was cooked just how we liked it which is great if you’ve a fussy eater or two! There was ample choice and being able to choose the night before was really helpful! Would definitely stay again, and would recommend it to anyone!
