Outstanding beautiful location by the beach. Excellent service and friendly staff. Was working with a colleague for two weeks in Dar Es Salaam and we decided to take a weekend off. An overall extraordinary weekend experience. We had a wonderful relaxing weekend surrounded by a beautiful and exquisitely simple environment. Comfortable and tranquil. We witnessed the most amazing sunrise I have ever seen. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
We chose to stay here after reading many great reviews and it didn't disappoint. Great food, amazing views of the beach and the sea and the owners were really helpful and accommodating. The wifi and air con both worked well. Swimming at high tide at sunset was absolutely idyllic.
The hotel is just amazing: its architectural style is superb, the beach front is great, rooms are spacious, staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is just perfect. Food wasn't that great and that was actually a pitty given the great place this is. Still it is worth it!

The beach here is wonderful, pure white fine sand and great for walking or running. Swimming is a different story - lots of Coral and sea urchins, but the pools are great. The hotel is very nice and seemed to be the busiest in the area. The staff and service were wonderful. A delightful, comfortable place to stay for a relaxing few days.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Villa Kiva. The owners were nice and helpful. The hotel is lovely, very well kept- our rooms were spotless and comfortable. The downside was that the food was not great (we ate most of our meals at other hotels, which was not an inconvenience at all) and the staff didn't look too happy to be there. I felt a lot of them had sour expressions most of the time. Having said that, for what we paid, I thought this hotel was great value for money.
