Pallas Hotel

A training hotel for the nearby university, the Pallas makes the most of the location which is on first impression may be a bit "sketchy". The rooms are very large by EU standards, clean and well designed. Walking distance from the university, several good restaurants and unique bars, thus this establishment surpasses first impressions. The breakfast was not free as some have written, rather well worth the 7 euros charge. 25 minutes from the Frankfurt airport this hotel provided a value alternative to the hotels at the airport.

I spent 3 nights here over December during the Christmas market period. I felt that for the time of year it was very well priced. I arrived after the check-in time of 7pm and having told Pallas before coming found my key waiting for me when I arrived - it was all well organised and simple. Likewise, when leaving my flight home was late in the evening and they were happy for me to keep the room until 3pm. Overall, the room was comfortable, all the facilities were clean and well presented. The only thing it lacked was a kettle in the room for making tea... but really that isn't a big deal! The hotel itself is set back from a main road, but this is not a problem as I found no noise disturbance at any point of the night from traffic or anything else. There are a couple of supermarkets within 5mins walking distance in case you need any food. It's roughly a 20min walk from the city center and a 10min walk from the main tram/bus routes that can take you to the center or to the train station.

The hotel was good. Receptionist was very nice in arranging. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We had a good time there as it was just for a night. The fast food joints like Burger King and others were in a walking distance. The convenience store was below the hotel. Over all a good hotel. Only thing you need check in before 7.00 pm. on weekends.

Decent, clean hotel for quick stay. No wifi during stay despite advertised as free. Staff made no attempt to fix or offer alternative.

The main photo of the hotel did not match the photos, the location was a floor above a cash and carry, with drunks consuming their purchases. It was was locked when I arrived, I came late any by luck a guest was there to let me in and I had to find my own key. There was no window just a skylight, the shower head was broken so could not hold the head properly. The internet was broken and for some strange reason the telly stopped working around 11pm and did not work in the morning. Really disappointing!!

After spending the day in Heidelberg we were looking for a simple hotel, and ended up in Darmstadt. With 45 euro's for two people it is a good deal, also not too far from the highway or the city center of Dramstadt. Cheaper then Heidelberg. The room was spacious with good beds, and it was clean as well. Recommended for those who are looking for a affordable but good stay.

The hotel has this sorta "industrial / IKEA" type look. Nice basic room with an AC unit (very important on hot German afternoons). Furnishing were good with nice bedding. Basic German breakfast available with good coffee and juices. Not exactly the best or most entertaining location but within easy walking distance of the park, the old downtown square and other amenities. Since this was business for me I didn;t have much time to explore. Thre are some good little restaurants locally down the street but I had the most fun in the old square. Overall I would recommend this for a business trip for a few days.

No one manning reception desk when we arrived. Staff composed of hotel trainee students. Room key was on reception desk with completed registration form so that wasn't a problem. However, without prior booking, no one after 5pm to give you a room.

This is a perfectly comfortable, reasonably-priced hotel in a bizarre location, in a strip-mall on the edge of an industrial area. However, it's only a 10-minute or so walk to the center of Darmstadt and easy to get to the train station via the number 5 tram a couple 100 metres down the road.

Hard to find, even with GPS. Strange location. No staff in duty when we arrived and the posted contact number didn't work. It was ok for a one-night stop en route to somewhere else.
