Secrets Vallarta Bay Puerto Vallarta - All Inclusive

My husband and I visited last week for our 2nd anniversary. The resort does have a great view of the ocean and we saw whales twice while we were there. It’s paired with a Dreams - so you can hear kids/ see them. Seeing as most of the restaurants are in the Dreams side- there is unfortunate cross over. I found the resort to be too busy for how small it was. There was barely any space between the pools if you were looking for a nice quiet pool to lounge at. If you’re looking for a quiet relaxing vacation - I don’t think this resort is it. Entertainment can be heard from wherever you are. Service was fantastic - everyone was very friendly and nice and even remembered us when we went back to the same restaurant. Sergio at the buffet (on the secrets side) was great and Gustavo up front around check in was funny, friendly and helpful. There was nothing that made this resort stand out to make it extra special.

Went to Secrets Vallarta Bay in January. Jose Becerra, what can we say.. Great Butler, smiling face always willing to help full of surprises (good ones) easy to talk to great all around. Does his job very well.

Yikes! I was expecting much better given the 4.6 rating and yet the resort is a lot like a carnival cruise with low quality food and even lower drinks. Unless you specifically ask them not to use their "punch-like" mixers, the drinks are pretty bad. Spa was fantastic but intentionally overpriced - designed to get you to want the discount offered for sitting in on their sales pitch. TIPS: The homemade empanadas in front of Tamarindo, the wine room at Bordeaux, Oceana (Jazmin) for lunch, get the Oasis cabana with Mario as your host - worth the $600/day. Overall? No way I would repeat the experience.

The workers were very pleasant to work with Very good hospitality. Everything was clean and everyone was also so friendly. I just would add that the food was just ok. Had room service every morning. Coffee,fruit and pastries every morning at 8 am sharp! Not one day was missed for room service! Never have I ever had my room turned down..now I have ! Excellent butler Jose Becerra!

We LOVE Secrets VB. We've been there every year for the past seven and it's our favorite Secrets. Everything about it exudes quality and we will continue to be loyal annual guests. Having said that I'd like to pass on some constructive criticism about the pool and beach area. The reserving of chairs at the pool and the beach has become completely out control and every year management makes less effort to stop the practice. My wife and I are early risers so we usually go to the beach before sunrise and wait for Market Cafe to open. When we get down there at 0530-0600 there are already towels and personal items placed on chairs. I watched one woman get over 15 books from the lending library and place them on various chairs at the pool and beach. When I questioned her about how important she and her friends must be she went into a profanity laced tirade about how it's her vacation and she'll do what she wants to. I mentioned this to the guard at the beach and he just shrugged his shoulders and admitted it was a problem, but he really couldn't do anything about it. This is very common at Secrets VB, much more so than other Secrets. The most infuriating thing is that rarely does anyone come down to the reserved chairs before noon. In many instances they use the pool most of the day and then get their reserved beach chair later in the afternoon. In the meantime guests that want to use the beach area are hesitant to remove items that have obviously been placed there only to reserve the lounger. This has got to stop. It's really putting a damper on many guests' vacation and there is constant conversation among the guests as to the ignorance of not only the people that do it, but the management that ignores it as well. It's an easy problem to fix. 1) Have the guest sign an addendum when they check in stating the policy 2) Don't put towels out before 0630 and have the guard notify guests of the policy when they see people reserving chairs. 3) Place signage on the palapas and in the pool area. 4) Take a pic with a time stamp and remove the items after an hour. Other resorts follow this procedure. Why doesn't Secrets VB ?

Our wedding at Secrets Vallarta Bay was truly a dream come true. From the moment we began planning to the very last song of the night, everything exceeded our expectations. Our wedding coordinator, Karla Cruz, was absolutely incredible. She was patient, organized, responsive, and so genuinely kind throughout the entire process. Planning a destination wedding can feel overwhelming, but Karla made everything feel seamless. She brought our vision to life and made sure every detail reflected exactly what we wanted. I felt completely supported and stress-free on the most important day of our lives. The resort DJ, Pablo, was also amazing! He created the perfect ambience from cocktail hour to the dance floor. The music was flawless, the transitions were smooth, and he kept our guests dancing all night. The energy was everything we hoped for. Secrets Vallarta Bay gave us the most beautiful backdrop, incredible service, and an unforgettable experience. Our wedding day was beyond perfect — truly a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Food was amazing! Jose was very helpful and kind! Thank you Jose! UVC Check-in was a joke. Very unorganized. Unprofessional. Dirty office. No welcome crew. UVC was horrible !

This resort is beautiful! The staff is incredible, the food is great and there is always something to do! I highly recommend booking in the preferred club. The room was GORGEOUS! We had a jet tub on our balcony and a stunning view overlooking both the pool area and the ocean. There is a private bar, buffet and exclusive access to their steakhouse. But above all else, around round the clock service! Our butler, Jose Becerra, was the highlight of our trip. He was so funny and personal and we will honestly remember him forever lol. We bragged the whole time to our friends about our butler, as they did not have one in their building lol. He was extremely helpful in booking reservations, excursions and even went out of his way to get us a bowl of rice when my friends phone fell in the water. 5 stars for Secrets Vallarta Bay and 5 stars for Jose 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I would give it 5 stars. But they don’t enforce the saving of lawn chairs . They sit empty with towels on them that guests save and don’t come for hours

Overall It was our first return to Puerto Vallarta in over 20+ years and we stayed for 10 days. Our room was a premiere suite with a king size bed, comfortable in-room sitting couch/ottoman, standing tub plus an outdoor hot tub on the balcony. Some room furnishings were a little bit dated but the room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Pros Commendations go out to Eduardo who was are daily breakfast server at the Market Cafe and Gilberto how was our daily lunch server at the Oceana cafe - very attentive and added lots of smiles and laughter during our meals. We enjoyed the Bordeaux restaurant (twice) and Himitsu (twice) - the menus were delicious. All staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The sunset views from the lobby balcony overlooking the bay are incredible and so photo-worthy - don't miss them! Took in a morning hatha yoga class and even convinced my husband to join in on one of the daily aquasize sessions - otherwise our back sides would start to take the shape of beach loungers. I love that they ring a bell when there were whale sightings - saw whales almost every day of our stay. Cons (minor, not vacation spoilers) * Booked the spa for hydrotherapy and couples massage - massage was hot stone (OK) but room was unusually cooler so never really warmed up during the treatment. * One comment on restaurant desserts, need to make sure thoroughly warm the cake/tart desserts before adding cold ice-cream to them - otherwise not so tasty. * The process of getting from the Secrets side of the hotel to the Dreams side of the hotel (for access to more restaurants) is a bit cumbersome - too many elevators (need to use at least 2 ) and long waits during the evenings for elevators with some placed out of service after 8 pm. This is our second trip to a Secrets resort in MX. If you get the chance, try Secrets the Vine in Cancun (our best Secrets resort stay so far). Don't worry we will be back in the not to distant future to Secrets Vallarta Bay too.
