Aqualux Hotel Spa & Suite

A hidden gem just a short stroll from Lake Garda and the cute town center of Bardolino on the lake. It has a nice romantic feel in the round bed suites and the Aqua view rooms are a must. The staff is friendly and eager to please from time of checkin to time of checkout. Hotel has a very nice spa and mild temperature thermal waters so it makes it nice for families as well especially since they have a separate kiddie pool that can be accessed from some of the garden terrace suites. I like the concept they had for dinner for a appetizer buffet, salad buffet and first and second course plates and a desert buffet. All priced separately if you don't do the Half board stay rate which gives choices everyones appetite. I will mention that the 1st and 2nd course dishes are served gourmet style. This tip is for my American friends, don't be surprised when in the spa people drop all their clothes to shower and enter steam and saunas. This is a true European spa and has everything from massages and thermal waters to proper sauna and steam rooms.

We stayed in the Aqualux for the final part of our honeymoon. After visiting Rome and Florence, we wanted somewhere to relax in luxury and the hotel did not disappoint. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with welcome drinks and the reception staff (who incredibly were all fluent in Italian, German and English) could not do enough to help us. We took the elevator to our room. From the reception elevator there was quite a walk to our room. However, for the rest of the trip, we used a different lift which took us incredibly close to the bar, pool and restaurant. When we got to our room, we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The room was spotless and had a giant circular bed. In the room, there was plenty of space and a good sized balcony. We had a distant view of the lake and a closer view of the car pack which didn’t bother us one bit. In the mornings, we went down to breakfast which was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. It had all of the regular hotel breakfast options but also had waffle machines, fresh omelettes and juicers for you to make your own juice. Prosecco was available for free at breakfast each day. The pools are spotlessly clean and gorgeous to relax in. We particularly enjoyed the lazy river which is inside one of the main outdoor pools. Inside pools are great too. I would recommend reserving loungers using your towel before breakfast if you want a particular spot. However, they didn’t all go too quickly - much better than some places we’ve been. Rooms were all cleaned daily and were left in immaculate condition. Around the pool, there is an aqua class at 11am every day which is quite loud but it only lasts for around 30 mins. During this time, I couldn’t focus to read a book but used it as time to relax in a different pool. After it was over, it was calm and quiet again. Random extra notes: Towels and complimentary robes are great quality and smell incredibly clean. All rooms come with a beach bag for you to pop your bits in to take to the pool which was very handy. The hotel is less than 10 mins (very easy walk) to the lake where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to eat or drink at. We particularly enjoyed Cafe Italia which is on the lake front and served very high quality food. I requested a late check out because we were going to the airport at 1pm. This wasn’t available as it was booked out again. However, the reception staff let us stay in our room until 12 (should have been 11am) for no extra charge. We were then allowed to use the facilities for free for the next hour until our taxi arrived. Overall, this is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in and we would recommended it to anyone.

Our flight was a little delayed so we arrived at the hotel a little late. The receptionist was very friendly and offered us water as it was a long journey. We checked into our room (there was 4 of us), and we couldn't have asked for a better room. Spacious, clean and comfortable beds. Good size bathroom as well with a power shower. The only drawback to the bathroom is that it needed hooks behind the bathroom door to hang clothes, but it was a minor inconvenience. Breakfast was also very good with an excellent spread and good service. The hotel is literally about a 5 - 7 minute walk to the town centre of Bardolino was has plenty of places to eat and drink. You can also catch ferry's to other towns from the harbour and its quite reasonably priced as well. The hotel also has multiple swimming pools. We really enjoyed our stay here..

The breakfasts are 1st class!

Great hotel base to explore Bardolino and wider Lake Garda area. Spa & Wellness area was well equipped and offered excellent treatments.

As for the service, it is not a 4 stars. The massage was given in a cold room with no music and the spa pools had many kids. Additionally, the restaurant’s food is mediocre and low quality. Location is good.

The hotel and spa had excellent facilities. The rooms were very comfortable and well equipped. The outdoor areas were beautiful although during this busy time it was sometimes difficult to find a deck chair in a shady spot. The hotel itself is situated a 10 min walk from the lakeside town of Bardolino where there were plenty of options for eating and drinking.
