ALEGRIA Mar Mediterrania - Adults Only

Location was excellent for beach access. Meals were of very high quality and good value with a great range of choices. The hotel was immaculately clean. All staff were highly motivated, friendly and helpful. The room was well proportioned and comfortable with a great shower. The pool was small for the size of hotel and the outside area was cramped unless you went to the (busy) beach. I would definitely go again.

I have just returned from my 2nd stay at Alegria Mar Mediterrania and wanted to give an an honest review. During my first visit in Oct 2023, I was given a room directly above the bar. The room had a good view, had a private balcony but was understandably noisy. I booked to go back last week and having previously experienced the noisy room, emailed months in advance requesting a room on one of the upper 6 floors. Upon arriving I was given perhaps the worst room in the hotel (room 101). Ground floor (same as bar level) with a view consisting of the back of loungers and a car park. Upon checking in, I mentioned at the reception desk that I had requested an upstairs room. They said they had received my request but didn't have any availability. This seemed very strange as I witnessed others checking in after me who were given rooms in nicer locations within the hotel. The noise level in the room was very bad especially at night due to its proximity to the main staircase and the noise of various drunken individuals heading to their rooms. There is no outside private space, there is a sofa but it is not clearly marked that it should belong to a room. In fact I awoke one morning to a lady sitting on my outdoor sofa smoking. It should be cornered off better or marked more clearly that these areas are for the rooms use only. The room itself was clean however, but looked a bit tired. The bathroom door seal was hanging off resulting in the bathroom door not closing properly. The shower had no shower door resulting in the tiled floor in the bathroom becoming very wet and therefore a slip hazard. The bar and restaurant staff were friendly however the hotel overall feels like it needs some general refurbishment to keep it fresh. In summary, due to the rooms allocated to me on both my stays and the fact the reception team didnt seemingly try to manage my request, I wouldn't return in the future.

Hotel: adults only . Modern, clean, friendly, food very good has a small free gym and spa , beautiful beachfront location . Next to a train track but not a noise issue . You can infact get the train into Barcelona in an hour and it’s cheap fare. Beach sunbeds free infront the hotel , just show wrist band and room number . Most rooms have an amazing view . The rooms are clean , walk in shower, hairdryer lots of cupboard space , small fridge and safe for hire . No complaints , yes I would come back. only thing I might do different is maybe arrange my own transfer , coach transfer was hot and long.

The hotel itself, no complaints, very clean and comfortable We could overlook and accept the hidden charges; charge for use of the safe, the refundable deposit for the use of pool towels, even the the fact that the beach bar was not included in the all inclusive package, this could have been embarrassing if we had not reviewed the food menu and realised we had to pay for items consumed albeit at a 50% discount, the mini bar which was empty but a sign stating prices for the consumption of products, no tea or coffee provision in the room, even budget hotels provide this, good job we brought our own teabags, coffee and sugar. Our holiday experience was extremely overshadowed by lack of customer service for what appeared to be aimed at guests who booked and paid as all inclusive, the refusal to serve, the restrictions applied, made us feel like 2nd class citizens, this mainly applies to the bar staff, in particular David and the blonde lady (sorry I didn’t get her name) I acknowledge that some people take advantage of the all inclusive package, and consume in excess, but please do not tar us all with the same brush

Came here for 7 nights with my partner , probably one of the best hotels we have stayed at , right on the beachfront a beautiful view by the pool , staff were very friendly , helpful and polite. Rooms were very clean and the food options for were very good! My partner is vegan and she was able too have a good amount of food there. Only thing I would have said maybe they could have done better is have music by the pool slightly louder but that’s just me haha! The town itself is quite a tourist town it’s small but nice , a far few nice beach bars , bars and restaurants in the town. Got the train too Barcelona which only took an hour and boats rides available on the beach too other towns! A great holiday I would definitely come back and recommend the hotel 100%

Beautiful hotel could not fault it. Food was great always plenty to choose from at each meal. Our room was on 7th floor and was overlooking the beach, it was spotlessly clean, bed really comfortable, kettle and cups was a bonus. Staff throughout the hotel were efficient and friendly and would go out of their way to help. Never had a problem with sunbeds towels for the pool were available with a 10 euro returnable deposit, and a visit to the spa was great. Would definitely return in the future. Many thanks to all concerned for making our stay so enjoyable.

We've had the best time ever at this hotel. We arrived and was allocated a beautiful south veiw room overlooking the sea. Our room was very big and exceptionally clean with a massive walk-in shower . The hotel is very modern and has a happy atmosphere which was lovely. All the bar staff couldn't do enough for us and we had a great laugh with them and they all deserve a mention but sadly I can't remember all their names apart from Natalia who was amazing at her job!!. We had no complaints about the food and always found plenty of variety. I especially loved the seafood !! The spa was an added bonus that is free and can be used as many times as you like, which was amazing. We loved it. The pool area is lovely, and we always got a sunbed no matter what time of the day we went. We will 100% be returning and hopefully meet up with some of the lovely people we met and had such a laugh with 🤣 Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday memorable and see you in the very near future 😊

Just got back from an amazing 5 days at this hotel. Booked for our 10th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. Staff extremely friendly and went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble. We arrived just after breakfast service but didn't have to wait long for lunch to be served. Delicious array of food available. We really enjoyed trying all the different dishes. Each service offered new things to try. Great selection of drinks available throughout the day. Lovely room with a beautiful view from the balcony on the 6th floor. Everything was clean and fresh and we were given a good selection of complimentary toiletries including toothbrushes and vanity kits. The facilities were great, we loved the spa and spent a couple of hours each day using it. The outdoor pool gave a refreshing dip after many hours sunbathing on the ample sunbeds available. Evening entertainment was great, particular the singer on Saturday evening. Other guests made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would recommend. Reading other (negative) reviews, I struggle to see they could have stayed at the same hotel! Definitely worth the four stars! Thank you for such a great stay!

The room was large, comfortable and clean, with a spacious balcony. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The major let-down was the food. It was very rarely hot, and the menu repetitious. The location was beachfront, but the access to the hotel was underpasses or a metal stairway over the railway. A little spooky at night. The entertainment was not particularly good, although I appreciate it is still early in the season. There were several shrieking hen-parties among the guests which we did not expect, and there was a distinct lack of atmosphere. Not a hotel we would go back to.
