Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort

A brilliant holiday at the Magdalena hotel. We enjoyed every aspect of our trip, the golf was a highlight as was the food and the friendliness of the staff. Set in a wonderful plantation, the nature you can see at the hotel was amazing. Wonderful bird life, iguana and cayman as well as other lizards. I would highly recommend this hotel

My wife and I spent 5 relaxing days and nights at the Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort immediately after Trinidad's Carnival season ended. We chose the resort for its size, variety of dining options, three swimming pools, and all-inclusive menu plan. Our comfortable oceanfront room included a patio where we enjoyed sitting with a cocktail in the evenings while listening to the ocean. The food was uniformly excellent although most of the resort's 5 restaurants are only open for dinner on certain days of the week. The Atlantic Ocean was too rough for using the beach during winter months, so we took advantage of the free shuttle service to the calmer waters and fun atmosphere at Pigeon Point Heritage Park one afternoon. Other excursions around the island of Tobago were also available although we did not participate in them. Another highlight was cycling around the resort every day to admire the beautiful condos and villas of the Tobago Plantation area using the free bicycles available for hotel guests. Some of the furnishings could use an upgrade but the friendliness and helpfulness of the Magdalena staff, especially the concierge and bell captain, made our stay very comfortable. We highly recommend the Magdalena Grand for anyone seeking a quiet, restful vacation in a beautiful oceanfront location.

It's a bit isolated but a lovely setting. Disappointed that the main pool was closed but on the upside free trips to the beach. The resort itself is a bit tired needing some tlc. Rooms are adequate but a bit dark and air-conditioning is a bit temperamental. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Buffet style breakfast and 3 other places to eat, food was okay. Played golf, pro shop a bit unhelpful, no map of course, so you need your phone on, but a long course and well kept. Not sure I would return purely due it's isolated location and it's on the Atlantic side.

We booked Magdalena for a change , usually at CP . It was very good. The service was superb from all around. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Natisha at the morning breakfast buffet made our stay most memorable. She offered service second to none. She learned the nuisance/ needs of each of us had stuff prepared before we even asked …. Thats KYC at its best . Thank you Natisha for taking care of us and offering exceptional customer care. ❤️❤️❤️

We rented a beautiful Villa (called the Pristine) with stunning views over the ocean. group of 9 friends we played a LOT of golf on the amazing Plantation course. This is our 4th year and honestly it just gets better. We were greeted by the wonderful Tamara who made sure everything was ready for our golf. I cannot in all honesty recommend the hotel which is in a sad state of decline. Rent a property (there are many) and have a ball!

I recently stayed at the Magdalena Grand Hotel for a business trip, and it exceeded all my expectations. The property is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, and the staff consistently went above and beyond with warm, attentive service. The food was delicious, the amenities were excellent, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to unwind after a busy work day. Even though this was a business stay, I found myself wishing I had more time to enjoy everything the resort offers. I truly hope to return soon for a family vacation so we can all experience this amazing place together.

Cautionary note - although the staff are 5 star and cannot do enough to make you feel welcome, sadly, lack of investment in the property is beginning to show and unless you are prepared to "chill" and enjoy the food, weather and golf course....this is probably not the place for you. Problems with maintenance ongoing.

We arrived at the hotel early evening and had a lovely welcome by the staff. Our room was big, nice and clean. We unpacked and went off to eat and have a drink at the pub bar which again was really good. First impression was really good. The following day we started to realise that the hotel was looking really run down and the main pool was closed for refurbishment. The hotel is huge with lots of rooms but the whole place was really empty of guests. I think in its day this hotel would have been very popular as it has an 18 hole golf course in the grounds. It was a shame to see such a lovely hotel in such a bad way with lots of decay everywhere. The staff at the hotel are all amazing. Lisa and Ronda at customer services go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Because the hotel is clearly under occupied some items on menus along with some drinks are not aways available. That being said there are plenty of things to choose from. Kevin in the pub and the ladies waiting on the tables are really good and the service is great. It is a shame that such a lovely hotel has not been maintained and therefore looks run down. I do hope things turn around for the sake of the lovely staff.

Bluebay are still selling this hotel as a 4* Caribbean paradise... it is not. The staff are great but the hotel is on its knees. It's awful and is crumbling around itself. In its day it was probably superb but went bust some years ago and has been owned by the Tobagan government since. There is no investment, only two of the restaurants are open, the pool area is shabby and the rooms are awful and so in need of improvement. However, the golf course is brilliant. It's worth going to for that alone if you are a golfer. Given realistic expectations, it's not the worst place you could travel to for the price but don't believe the photos. Also, for a beach resort... there is no beach!

Resort is quite vast and offers a great outdoor experience for those that like the tropical feel. Staff are pleasant and always courteous. There are a number of amenities available and the food is reminiscent of good old Caribbean cooking. Safe, quiet and very relaxing.
