Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort

We still have 3 nights to stay here. I can't wait to leave. This is our second time here. How downhill it has gone There aren't many guests here However it can still take 1 hour from ordering to receiving food unless you go to one of the al a carte restaurants Today the pool bar is closed because " of sand flies from the stinking seaweed" There aren't any flies it is too windy I suspect that as a lot of people were out on trips leaving just 6 people at the pool they shut it down. The option to get a drink means climbing 2 flights of steps. A young lad came down once to take orders never to be seen again. I went up and asked him to bring some drinks which he did. Logically you would have thought he'd ask the others if they wanted a drink but no Entertainment is zero Thank goodness I brought my golf clubs with me! Bit of a lottery knowing where meals are being served Staff are either brilliant or just plainly not interested and just want to get through the shift. Rooms are fine. Great if you want a cold shower. Haven't had a warm one yet. This is an honest review Haven't got an axe to grind

Not 4 star food very poor unless u go into the specialty restaurants Staff lovely and helpful but slow Won’t be returning Could not use the cafe which they said should be open every day was closed Tried to get lunch in buffet but was over taken by outside guests as it was Mother’s Day Now in the pub trying to get food another wait

What can I say , I went here with my partner and another couple (friends) we had a very lovely chilled out holiday liming every day . First shout out goes to ADANNA at the pool bar super lovely friendly lady . Robinson Crusoe bar the lovely amazing ARIEL she is happy smiley friendly efficient and full of good vibes and enthusiasm. Con siege RHONDA. ( beach boys : help me Rhonda ) nothing was ever too much trouble . Food : Breakfast good at the buffet but lunch and evening meals at the buffet could do with a little improvement, Kalina has lovely food and so does the salika and the Robinson Crusoe bar . Hotel is a bit tired in places but the staff are so amazing and nothing is too much trouble . Visit to the nylon pool at Buccoo reef is very good take cash money for the boat bar . You can hire a car from as little as £36 per day to explore by yourself .The only thing that lets Tobago down is the airport queuing outside in the heat to check in , if you smoke your lighter will be taken away on your departure…The airport queue may improve when the new airport opens . Last mention to deputy manager HOLLIS you should be be proud of your staff and the hard work they do every day .Thank you all for a lovely liming holiday .🥰

Excellent

Overall, we had a great experience with a variety of dining and a lovely environment. The only thing reason for not saying it was excellent is for something beyond the control of the management - the natural sargassum bloom around the east coast tends to give a pungent scent. However, the hotel seems to be able to reduce the odor indoors.

I recently stayed here, and while the location and staff made the visit enjoyable, the resort could use some improvement. The tiles used throughout the property are not non-skid, which becomes a safety concern—especially when it rains. Entertainment for guests was noticeably lacking. There wasn’t much happening in the evenings or during the day to keep guests engaged. Something as simple as live music, cultural showcases, or organized activities would go a long way in enhancing the experience. On the positive side, the staff were wonderful. Their warm, welcoming attitude and excellent customer service really stood out and made a big difference. They were friendly, helpful, and always had a smile to share. The pool area was also a highlight—clean, well-maintained, and a relaxing place to unwind. Food at all the restaurants were a hit. We took the AI package and everything we ordered was a hit. The staff are doing an outstanding job—it’s time for the facilities and entertainment to match that same standard.
