Purbeck House Hotel

Historic building with great character, room recently refurbished in the main building and was a good size, comfortable with good bathroom. Some benefits to the superior room were undoubtedly the room size, view, bathrobes - but would of been nice to have bottled water supplied maybe something more than the basic biscuits as snacks for the price. Great central location for short walk to town, sea front, pier etc. and great to have on site parking (EV Charging would of been a benefit) Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good, but little things like salt/pepper on tables, bread offered, offer of alternative egg to fried would improve the experience, also could the hot buffet be served up fresh from the kitchen as a chef and waiting staff were there? I'm sure it would save much waste. Would use agin if visiting the area - thank you to all staff.

The perfect escape from the hurly burly of Swanage, yet just 2 minutes from the centre. Also perfect is unusually the hotel has several single rooms which are at single person prices. Helps the budget especially for a single traveller or someone on business. Great breakfast as as an option.Room facilities are everything you need, comfortable bed and a gorgeous full sized bath. Have stayed many single nights this summer, but I'm staying for 6 nights this week and thoroughly enjoying my time. A great hub for local events at The Mowlem, bus into Bournemouth and great beaches. It's a very peaceful location and a beautiful building with relaxing grounds. Comfy bed, friendly staff, close to seaside.

Perfect stay in this charming full of character hotel centrally located in Swanage but very quiet. The staff are very nice and helpful. We stayed in Louisa Lodge which isn't in the main hotel but located in the nice gardens. Our room was lovely. The sitting rooms in the hotel are very grand and don't forget to look at the beautiful ceilings. ceilings! We will definitely return.

Very friendly staff. Our bedroom was very spacious with excellent views of Swanage and the sea. Very convenient in the middle of town easy access to the sea and shops.

The property needs some care and attention. Our bed was very uncomfortable. The cooked breakfast was disappointing, cold actually while left in the heating trays!! Staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful.

A comfortable, attractive and atmospheric building, also a large garden, with some intriguing ruins from the previous history of the site. Clean, comfortable room and friendly staff. No dinner service, but excellent breakfast in a striking conservatory. Sea views from some rooms. An ideal base for some walking I was doing on the Jurassic coastline, which starts from Swanage.

Interesting Scottish baronial pile in an English Victorian beach resort with lots of independent shops ( ignoring the amusement arcades ). Described as a 'hotel' but really a large B&B with a small bar; though for the 2nd 'B' we actually strolled down to some good breakfast spots in the centre just down the road. Clean rooms, nice sea view ( for us anyway ). However could do with a spruce up - quite tatty in places, and parts of the garden badly neglected; lovely greenhouse but falling apart ( so out of bounds ). Plumbing can be interesting - no water one night ( no apology from hotel either ). Lovely walks and countryside around, plenty of places to visit.
