"Comfort and cosy"

Visit weekend, it was very busy as the price rooms are very good, service and food also good. Very nice bar and reasonable price food. We will visit again.safe parking function room. Restaurant also nice.

"Clean and cheap"

Friendly welcome on arrival Room, communal areas and outside all clean and tidy. Had a ground floor double room which was a decent size for the 2 of us Bathroom decor a little tired but still usable Tea and coffee making facilities were there. Not 5 star but a great little budget hotel

"Pleasant budget hotel"

Spent one night but wish we had stayed longer. A welcoming reception by friendly manager. Our room was large and airy. Bed linen and towels were clean. Bathroom was clean also with plenty of hot water. We were charged £10 extra for a dog which is expected. Full cooked breakfast to set us on our way. Ample parking for our campervan. Had been a little wary due to some negative feedback but was pleasantly surprised. Hotel is very well placed for Grantham centre. Good walks for dogs very nearby. Would recommend staying as this hotel offers very good value for money and all the reasons above.

"Building needs attention."

Visited with my wife and 2 kids, 2 rooms shared between us, 1 double and 1 twin. We've stayed previously around 2 years ago, so we had no compunction about booking again. To start positively, as well as being very well priced, the twin room was absolutely fine, no complaints at all. Breakfast was plain but filling, but no clear signs or instructions about whether seating was required or regarding the cooked breakfast caused confusion. On arriving at 2 pm we did note that the hotel appeared very dark and we had concerns that it was initially closed, so not necessarily a positive beginning, but staff were very polite In the double room we noted cracks, cobwebs and a general fading of the decor. It was completely serviceable but it felt unloved. The service we received was very good, but it's a shame that's completely overshadowed by the fact that the entire hotel needs a lick of paint, with even the carpets appearing faded. I recognise that at such a good price it's difficult to find fault, but should we need a hotel again even at such a price we'd find it difficult to choose it, even if other hotels were more expensive. It's such a shame as the staff were very friendly and helpful.

"Good"

Check in was ok. However after paying in at check in, person came to my door 21.20 same day with card reader in hand saying i had to pay again. Showed my reciept and was told that i still owed £4 as i had been undercharged. Sent person away and sorted this out at check out. Hotel room in need of updating. Carpets a little warn and room in need of painting. Dead spider crushed on wall and old used shower gel ontop of shower.

"Don’t be fooled by pictures. This is no garden of Eden"

Booked a two night stay as my partner and I was there for a local competition.. on arrival dated and dirty exterior.. rubbish everywhere. Arrived at reception to discover payment had already been taken before arrival. No hand sanitation on display and no covid hotel policies in place. (A few signs in reception. No lights On leading to room. THE ROOM!!!! What an absolute disgrace. Dirty bed linen, one pillow case looked like it had been used and the other had a drown stain. Room smelled musty. Mould around windows and at least four large spiderwebs inside windows which looked like it been handed down from at least 100 generations before.. outside windows had thick webs which were strong enough to hold old leaves and bits of nature...shower head full of thick mould. Cob webs on ceilings walls and and very creative one between two dusty picture frames... Tea cups and spoons dirty. Bathroom floor dusty and with cobwebs between sink and toilet. We complained, receptionist acted surprised and said it had been been cleaned, but said he’d go up and clean it...which made no difference to the mouldy cracked window frames.. light switch and sockets had visible marks from previous fingers... we had to go and purchase our own cleaning products and new pillow cases just to get through the first night.. Next morning we went down to breakfast to find a musty dark dining area which was empty. First three plates I picked up were dirty, cutlery was Also dirty. We was not given a choice of what we wanted for cooked breakfast, but was told he was going to make it. My partner is vegetarian so I didn’t understand what they thought they were planning to bring us. I asked for hot water and was brought out a jug of hot water which when poured contained yellow water.. this was the straw for us... we refused to eat the breakfast and again expressed all the things which was wrong with our stay... we initially felt bad as we had noticed that the worker had been there since the day before and was doing a one man show. However, it was at this point we was informed that this man was the owner and he put down all issues with hotel down to covid and the fact he’s been closed and his staff are on furlough. A lot of excuses which were not justified... there are a hell of a lot of corners being cut here and our £59 a night room was not worth a penny. We were offered a free dinner.. no thank you We were offered 20% off.... no thank you We were offered another room.... absolutely not Finally we were offered to be moved to a 4star accommodation locally, which we accepted. availability of room at the other hotel was confirmed while we was at our competition which began a rush to get us out If the Eden so he could let the room to new customers.. he harassed us to the the point he wanted to go in and remove our items from the room.. we had to STRESS that he can not touch our stuff and expressed our bewilderment at the idea of him taking another booking for the same room. When we rushed back during a break to pack up and move out. He was no where to be seen and had a lady at the desk who told us we had to pay £60+ (lmao) we asked for the owner and she said he wasn’t there but said we had to pay this... we said get him her or get him on the phone.. he then told her by phone that we didn’t have to pay.. Pictures in advert are photoshopped or very very old. I have enclosed current pictures ( I could only upload 10). Considering we are going through a pandemic, there is absolutely no regards for customers health safety Hygiene or comfort. no hotel policy in place... a very depressing place.. We moved to the Urban highly recommend it. They had enough staff to function adequately clean rooms... full covid protocols in place from the second you walk in the door.. lovely dinner, nice breakfast and very friendly staff.. On checkout of the Urban we discovered the owner at the dean hadn’t paid our bill, once we explained to reception how our booking there came about, they seemed unsurprised and told us not to worry about the bill and they would chase it up with the Eden Don’t be fooled by sob stories at the Eden... rebooking the room shows there is no care and it’s about maximising on income at the expense of the health and safety of customers.

"Pleasant stay ideal for workers "

Arrived at hotel plenty of parking checked in and ordered food for my room just settled in and food arrived and was delicious room was a little dated but was comfortable full English breakfast was lovely

"Great Weekend"

Went on a fishing club trip and there were 21 of us. Raj and the team could have not been more accommodating if they tried! They kept constant communication before our trip and were extremely polite and catered too our every need!
