Sanctuary Lake Apartments

Unfortunately our hot water ran out and we had to call in a plumber, there was a leak in the kitchen which leaked onto the kitchen floor and our wifi stopped working.

Was only a 2 minute walk down to the beach

Beautiful Location, beautiful gardens, leafy, green, lots of bird sounds and insect sounds, beautiful pool and spa. Host John was knowledgeable about the local area and helpful. Good security. Around the corner from the Wildlife Sanctuary, walking distance to a great dinner venue at Vikings Surf Club.

The front and back Verandahs were dusty and leafy- needed a good blower vac. Not enough cutlery or mugs or glassware in the kitchen. Bedroom Carpet has seen better days, the sheets were spotless but the quilts and blankets were marked with some dirt/grime. Our unit (53) was in a great location and was pretty clean. Minor things needed fixing (magnet door holder). Plane goes over close and frequently which we didn’t mind at all.

The location, the pool, the spa, the view from the outside

The room, filthy, socks went black on the soles just from first inspection. Ensuite had no lights so wasnt available during daylight hours. Main bathroom with the washer/ dryer had fluff n hair all thru it. No toilet paper for replacement. There was a used cleaning cloth at the main entrance on a bookshelf, with what looked like a used soap from the bathroom wrapped in it. My neighbour was having a cigarette on his balcony at the same time i was showing my 2 daughters the biggest spider web we have ever seen, which hits you (literally) in the face, it takes up most of the balcony, its really impressive (the spider web, not the balcony thats been left for nature to take over). Anyway, some second english women yelled out that this is a non smoking complex. Fair enough too!. Hello, i get a message from the complex saying i shouldnt smoke in the rooms or balcony haha.. Crumbs were in the oven tray from what looked like a lovely schnitzel cooked before our arrival. Dont need the beach because the sand was already there to meet you in the apartment. As an overall... the complex is amazing!!! Kids loved it, we loved it, the gardens, the pool.. just awesome! The room tho.. wow! Not worth the cost. And the best part is they tell you to remove all rubbish upon departure, which is fair.. Funny how the same rule doesnt apply to the cleaners (if thats what you want to call them).. leaving filth everywhere. All in all. Complex is 100%!!.. rooms are disgusting. Permanent tenants are like people that hate others coming into their space, thats the vibe we got. The price paid, we would expect 5 star accommodation. But instead we get 5 star location, with someones used soap there to greet us on arrival.
