Gaia Riverlodge

Amazing views perched on the cliff overlooking beautiful river falls. The walk down to the river is steep but just enough to make the first plunge incredibly refreshing. The food was remarkably good and the staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a long trip through Mexico & Belize. The hotel is faultless. The welcome was perfect, friendly & efficient, & highly professional. To have a welcome drink (with rum!) with first sight of the breathtaking view was just fabulous. The setting in Mountain Pine Ridge is beautiful & it’s wonderful after drinking in the view from high up at the hotel, to be able to relax in the seating & sunbathing area down by the waterfalls. Also nice not to have to walk back up, the little funicular was fun! Food fabulous. All the service throughout was fabulous, from the front desk to the talented barman & finally to Rik, our exceptional guide who took us on a bird watching tour and to explore Barton creek caves. There is nothing to improve Gaia River Lodge, this is clearly a small hotel that has absolutely nailed it & is excellently managed.

Absolutely beautiful location, with breathtaking views of the five sisters falls. The staff all went above and beyond making our trip special, celebrating our anniversary, and generally taking care of everything we could possibly need. The hotel dog, Coco, is a love. Swimming in the waterfall is an amazing experience. We did a Mayan ritual cleanse and private dinner while there and both were an amazing experience and well worth the price. Rahim, Demor, and Javier were outstanding in customer service.

Mitten im "Dschungel" gelegene Lodge, oberhalb schöner Wasserfälle. Unterhalb der Wasserfälle gibt es einen wunderbaren Badeplatz, welcher zu Fuss oder mit einer kleinen Bahn erreichbar ist. Von unserem "Waterfall View Room" aus hat man einen schönen Ausblick auf den Fluss und den oberen Teil des Wasserfalls, der Ausblick auf den unteren Teil war durch Vegetation überwachsen Das Zimmer ist auf drei Seiten nur mit Klappläden und Mückengittern versehen, wodurch zusammen mit den Deckenventilatoren keine Klimaanlage nötig ist und es im Zimmer trotz Trockenzeit nie heiss wurde. Die Mückengitter waren dicht. Die Duschkabine war angenehm gross.

Die Zufahrt zur Lodge führt über eine mehrkilometrige holprige Staubpiste, war aber mit unseren SUV-Mietwagen kein Problem. Die Aufmerksamkeit des hoteleigenen Restaurantpersonal war zum Teil sehr gut, zum Teil aber auch begrenzt. So hatten wir beim Frühstück ettliche Mühe, eine zweite Tasse Kaffee zu erhalten. Unser Zimmer lag im Erdgeschoss eines zweistöckigen Holzbaus. Umhergehende Gäste im Zimmer über uns waren gut hörbar, was wir so in dieser ruhigen und abgelegenen Dschungel-Lodge nicht erwartet haben.

Gaia Riverlodge is a beautiful resort in a serene setting with amazing service. It is the perfect place for couples to get away and spend time together. We loved our stay here! Thank you Javier, Demor and Darrien for amazing service!

The resort is perched high on the ridge of a canyon overlooking the Five Sisters waterfall. You get the impression you're in a tree house. The grounds are beautiful and integrate into the surrounding jungle. The Five Sisters restaurant serves delicious, gourmet dishes. The resort is remote so there are no real other dining options unless you have your own transportation, but over 3 days, the menu was varied enough that we never got tired of the food and enjoyed tasting our way through many is the offerings. The staff is phenomenal, especially Chris the security guard who puts on an impromptu intimate magic show that left us truly amazed. The excursions were outstanding as well. Randolph was our guide to the local Mayan ruins as well as the Barton Creek cave tour where we canoed into a beautiful cave. There are many activities offered that cater to all activity levels. If you are a discerning traveler with a taste for adventure but appreciates high end luxury, Gaia is the place for you!

I didn't like that we had to leave! The road leading to the resort from the main highway is in poor condition. Not the resort's fault, and navigable, but teeth-rattling still the same.

I could not say enough positive things about this place. The staff always greeted us by name. The grounds are gorgeous. There’s a resident dog that took us on a hike. The food was great.

The property was serene and calm. The staff were so nice and friendly! If you get a chance ask Christopher to show you a card trick, he’s amazing!

The road to get to it was a little bumpy.
