The Old Borough Arms

The place is old, really old of course, so it was never going to be a modern Hilton. But the owners and staff were great, very welcoming and friendly. The facilities were good (be prepared to climb stairs though) and the location is excellent. Parking in Rye is an issue but there's a paid public parking facility directly opposite, so no issue. And it's a short walk to any number of pubs and restaurants if you want to get out and about for dinner.

Not so many stairs - just joking - and, at the end of the stairs, there's a good cold beer!!

It was clean, great friendly and helpful staff, The owner lovely, food delicious. Excellent experience will be back.

We verbleven er 6 dagen, in die tijd verwacht je op te minst wel 1 x schoonmaak, nieuwe handdoeken, nieuw wc papier. Om nieuwe handdoeken gevraagd, daarna niet gekregen weer gevraagd, letterlijk alleen nieuwe handdoeken gekregen maar hoopte dat er in ieder geval eens gepoetst zou worden, nieuw toiletpapier, wc raakte ook verstopt dus daarna toilet op hal moeten gebruiken, waar ook geen wc papier was

In the heart of Rye. Walking distance to historic sites, restaurants, shopping.

Could get a little noisy with deliveries and recycling of glass bottles from restaurants across the street.

Great locattion. Comfortable rooms.

The listing says breakfast is included but the host says it's not. They need to sort this out. We did eventually have breakfast there (free), to his credit. But it's not a conversation we should have to have on arrival.

The stairs with a heavy suitcase!! Will travel lighter next time!! A chap carried it up the stairs for me!!

The staff were super friendly on arrival, showed us to the room and explained the keys for getting in and out of the accommodation block. The room was nice and the bed really comfortable.

The name of the hotel gives the impression that the venue is a pub, it is not. We were looking forward to enjoying a pint on arrival and some pub food. There is no option to dine in of an evening (there are plenty of other options nearby) and breakfast is served in the cafe downstairs. The breakfast was good but getting a table in the cafe was not easy, plus it's small and noisy.
