Location in good town in New Forest

This was the third time we have stayed at The Stag. Sadly just for one night, we would have loved to stay longer! Top marks for cleanliness, comfort and service. The breakfast was great and the evening meal outstanding. Staff are friendly and helpful. We look forward to going back later this year on our way to The Isle of Wight. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay - mostly excellent but a couple of minor niggles to make it a 5 star review. Room very tastefully decorated and bed exceptionally comfortable. Dinner was lovely - venison pie is to die for! Breakfast was very good but please please get some decent coffee! It really lets the offer down. We had no problems with noise. However our shower (room 2) was either very hot or cold and couldn't keep a constant temperature. Also whilst the complimentary toiletries were lovely and high quality, the room had no hand soap and this is a basic essential in a hotel room. We will definitely return as we loved our stay but we hope the little improvements can be made as they would make the hotel excellent.

Room was modern and well appointed, including the bathroom with a huge walk-in shower. Waiter at breakfast the following morning was just the perfect mix of attentive, polite and friendly, memorising all our orders which were delivered promptly and as we’d requested. Breakfast itself was rustic and individually cooked, not mass produced buffet or cheap ingredients, but delicious. Rooms may not be to everyone’s volume level being on the busy road but we slept with the window open and weren’t disturbed at all. A great find in my view, and would definitely return.

Fantastic stay again at The Stag Hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful, they put themselves out even when they are busy. The rooms are comfortable and clean with great showers!. If you decide to eat at the hotel, the food is amazing and great value. Portion sizes are big and the menu has good options. We had arrancini ball and mushrooms for starters and they were both lovely. The mains we had the pork belly and the chicken Thai green curry. The curry was gorgeous and nicely spiced with plenty of flavour and a hefty portion. Pork belly was really nice and melted, it came with lovely potatoes and vegetables. Breakfast options are good and again very tasty. Can’t wait to visit again and enjoy Lyndhurst and the beautiful New Forest.

This is DEFINITELY the place to stay in Lyndhurst. I have been staying 4x a year for over 10 years, have stayed at a number of places and this is now my firm favourite. I always get a friendly greeting from the regular staff and owner. The food is always very tasty and substantial which is a combination you don’t always get…

Went to Lyndhurst for the weekend and stayed in a different hotel but we wished we had stayed here. Reason being, we went in for a drink and ended up having lunch there. Food is amazing and tasty, good quality Produce. Presented very well. Staff are all really friendly and happy to chat. We could have sat in there all day. We will be looking to stay here next time we’re in the forest. Thank You. Keep up the good work 🤩🤩

Just had a 2 night stay in this hotel with friends. Our evening meal was superb, large portions and very good quality. The room was very comfortable and breakfast for the two mornings was excellent. The service was outstanding and staff very friendly. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend 😊

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Lyndhurst. Very comfy rooms with a great bar and fabulous restaurant serving very tasty food. We received a very warm welcome on arrival. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Special mention to Liam who went above and beyond, very much appreciated. We will be sure to return in the near future.

Excellent atmosphere. Came in from the rain, lovely greeting. Great service, excellent sandwich, fresh salad, with a small mug of soup. Unusual and lush. Lots of activity around us, very friendly, everyone wanted to be here. Spacious warm inviting space.
