The Stag Hotel

Pub staff were so inviting and accommodating, food was wonderful and out quickly too. They also went above and beyond for the kids, digging out the last of the Christmas crackers and some little Xmas bits they had left over from Christmas. We felt very well taken care of, and extremely comfortable in the restaurant which is decorated really nicely. Will be back!

New Year Eve stay, very good food and service. Room was clean, tidy and everything functional and to hand. The New Year party was very busy but not packed out, good band with a brilliant atmosphere. The only downside, drinks at the top of pricing for a pub. Recommend for a reasonable cost and fun stay.

For the 5th year in a row we have taken friends and our dogs for lunch after a lovey new forest Christmas walk. The staff here are amazing and the food is always top notch. Will be coming back again every year for the foreseeable future. (And the odd day during the rest of ten year as well ☺️)

Excellent hotel with lovely rooms that were even better than expected. Postcode for the car park is to be followed...you then enter via the dinning area of the bar...all perfectly ok. Super service as they "checked in" our car for the 2 nights so no need to bother again about that despite going off for the day etc. Lovely to see a small town hotel serving breakfast, with no requirement to pre order - when less than 2 mins walk from front of hotel a choice of places to dine and have breakfast. Bedroom huge...lots of little personal attentions than made it even better. A luggage rack would have been good but we managed fine without. Loved the ear plugs as our room was at the front...traffic noise could I imagine be an issue in warmer months. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

We visited this lovely pub/hotel for a one night stopover in the new forest as a family pre Christmas break . We booked in for a Sunday lunch which was absolutely delicious in the lovely dining room. The young lady who took care of us was absolutely lovely, really helpful and accommodating , we felt like nothing was too much trouble . In fact all the staff were really great, super friendly and welcoming, despite the pub and restaurant being busy . We had 3 rooms booked for the night, each one was great, lovely size, super clean , and with lots of really nice touches to make you feel at home . We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return soon ! Thank you to everyone at the Stag for making our stay so good .

Lyndhurst was a stopover on our journey. Convenient but I had no prior knowledge. Our room was beautiful. Spacious, meticulously clean, lovely bathroom, towels, bed. Warm and cosy. But…I didn’t know they had live music on Friday evenings, and I didn’t know there would be so much noise from the street below. Despite the noise we slept, but I think the hotel description should be clear and honest about the noise. Service at breakfast was good - very speedy. But I thought they might have lovely sausages from the family butcher directly opposite. Instead they served disgusting UPF sausages from who knows where….

Lovely staff , good rooms, food good in evening but breakfast was a bit poor for the price you pay for it , no fresh fruit ,cereal

Third stay at The Stag, it never disappoints, started by a warm welcome by friendly staff. We had super roast dinner on the Sunday. The breakfast is excellent, with good produce cooked cooked to perfection. The member of staff who served us, both mornings of our stay, was very friendly and efficient (alas her name escapes me). We look forward to returning the The Stag.

From the moment we walked in the door we were made to feel very welcome by the lovely staff. Our room was not quite up to scratch a couple of things had been missed on housekeeping. However the staff were amazing and quickly showed us to another room and couldnt apologise enough. The room was very spacious room 6 on the top floor so quite a few steps to go up.Comfy bed, clean and tidy alrhough could do with a fresh lick of paint but this is something due soon as explained by the staff member. Food at the stag is amazing absolute delicious and again the staff are lovely. Great place to eat. We slept well , ear plugs are supplied if you need them as you can hear the traffic going past but this cant be helped as its the road through the centre of Lyndhurst. Great powerful shower.Breakfast was delicious and plentiful and again lovely chatty staff. We loved staying here for our Wedding Anniversary break. Will definitely be returning to stay again.

Came for a night to celebrate one of our 60th birthdays . Excellent food and friendly help-full staff .
