Superb stay, lovely staff, brilliant breakfast, great location

We returned to Stanbrook Abbey to celebrate our first wedding anniversary after getting married at the venue twelve months ago. On arrival we were told we had an upgrade and stayed in the same room as we stayed in twelve months ago which was really good. We booked for one night bed, breakfast and evening meal. As before the service was excellent, from the moment we arrived to be met by Claire at reception who remembered us to all the staff who are very welcoming and professional.

Stanbrook Abbey - our beautiful wedding venue! Our guests were in awe and loved every aspect of the grounds - from the gorgeous Callow Great Hall, to St Anne’s Wing and the lawns too! We knew we loved Stanbrook but we are so pleased our guests loved it too. Jodie, our wedding organiser at Stanbrook, was so supportive throughout the whole planning process of our wedding, always there to answer a question, always understanding and always there to offer advice too! The build up to the wedding would not have been the same without your support, so THANK YOU Jodie! Clyde and his team, were there on the wedding day helping to make the day perfect! We both knew we were in safe hands, everything we wanted was there. A friendly, helpful team who just wanted us to have the best day! And we did! Weirdly, an ultra modern bolt on access building greets you on arrival but all the original buildings hidden behind it are sympathetically restored: I dread to think of the cost of it all..,

We held our wedding at Stanbrook Abbey on 31.07.25 and it was the most magical, wonderful day. The staff couldn’t do enough for us on our big day and it flowed so smoothly. There was always enough people around to serve food and drinks throughout our day. Our wedding planner Jodie Boyd was incredible and nothing was too much trouble for her leading up to our wedding and on the day. Our events manager, Caitlin was also a dream to work with and she made sure absolutely everything went to plan throughout the day. You were both absolute stars and you’re a credit to Stanbrook Abbey!! Thank you!

Recently attended the venue for a wedding and stopped over in the St Anne's wing. Fantastic grounds, fantastic rooms and great atmosphere. The breakfast menu in the morning was great (only critique was no fried/poached eggs)! Particular shout out to the barman Larson who went above and beyond in terms of service.

Wow! Honestly the best wedding venue we could’ve ever wished for. From 2022 when we first booked our wedding, right up to 2025 and even after our wedding, the staff were absolutely amazing. Jodie made wedding planning an absolute dream, she has been so helpful and accommodating and was always at the end of an email when I needed anything. Thank you so much to the whole team at Stanbrook Abbey, we really did have the best day we could’ve ever wished for!

We visited last weekend with friends to celebrate a milestone birthday with an overnight stay and dinner. When we arrived it was obvious that it was beautiful well cared for property with extensive grounds, ample parking including an EV charging point. The welcome from reception was warm and friendly,certainly compared to some sullen hurried check ins we have experienced in other hotels! We were given an upgrade to a superior room, and accompanied there by lovely young lady so we wouldn’t get lost! The room was lovely, spacious and clean, large bed which was extremely comfortable, air conditioning, and a lovely large bathroom with separate free standing tub, and large shower cubicle with all amenities. Our dinner that evening was very good quality, tasty food, each course was nicely presented, and all staff again, were friendly and helpful. We had drinks in the bar afterwards whilst watching the wedding party having photos taken in the garden! Breakfast the next morning was very nice, although if I’m being honest, it took longer to arrive than we were expecting, but we weren’t in any hurry! We had a walk around the hotel and grounds after breakfast and found the wine tasting room, games room and wine cellar, which are great additions. I have to mention that considering almost all the staff we encountered were fairly young, service levels were in no way compromised, they were all friendly attentive, polite and knowledgeable, something many older more established hotel staff should take note of! Training is very obviously important here and it shows! Keep up the good work, we will definitely return next time we are in the area 😊

We can’t recommend this beautiful venue enough. From the moment we first viewed it, until checking out after the wedding, the service we received was amazing. The venue itself is the most beautiful place we have ever stepped foot into, and the staff were so helpful, especially Caylie who helped us plan and organise the whole thing effortlessly. We have never heard so many compliments about a wedding and a venue before. Guests were amazed and said it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to and I believe that is down to the venue and the way the staff ran it on the day, From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making our dreams come true. We can’t wait to return in the future, If you’re thinking about booking this venue, please don’t hesitate! The best day of our lives.
