This property was not what it showed online. Our stay here was awful. The apartment was so dirty I barely wanted to sleep in the bed and showered in sandals. There was an awful smell in the apartment. I would never recommend this place other than for the location.

Enjoyed the room, extremely simple check-in, lovely area. Two hiccups: first, the "sofa bed" was only large enough for my 12yo to lay on without their feet off the end of the bed. I was off almost to my knees. This is listed as being able to sleep two additional guests, which is not right. Secondly, the street cleaning trucks that run in early hours beneath the window of the property were rough. Not the fault of the owners, just be aware of very loud noise when you'd like to be sleeping.

Style was neat, location above bar was good and bad... convenient but lots of slamming door noises at night. Overall, a fine experience but communication was difficult and code for door provided in email did not match. I could not get ahold of owners but cleaning crew was able to assist by calling with their cell phone which was great but also a lucky break. Management could stand to improve some things like a broken chair whose back had been glued on but which was no longer a load bearing chair. Communication certainly could use improvement, but the facility was basically as advertised, was clean and felt secure and was generally comfortable but could use some upgrades. We bought our own toiletries and had no idea what type of pod to put in coffee maker so those are two areas that could easily be improved while some of the upgrades like new pillows that would make this a better stay should also be considered.

We had a tough time getting into the room as we did not receive the email with instructions prior to our check-in time. It was a challenge to figure out how to contact the property, but once we emailed them, they were responsive. It was very confusing and I hope they make some changes to better communicate with their guests on the check-in process.

While this hotel is unique, it was a little run down. There are also some things that have changed onsite that are reflected in their online profile or in their welcome email (where to enter, no longer a cafe onsite, etc.) There is also no obvious elevator for heavy luggage. When we arrived, our door code wasn’t working. The customer service number they gave worked well & the attendant helped rectify the code issue immediately & politely. The room was large & ours had access to a rooftop patio (albeit, no furniture was provided for sitting & relaxing).

The property itself is perfect - perfect location in the heart of Reykjavik. Could not be happier and for that I am glad I chose this hotel. The issue is communication - for over a month I sent e-mail after e-mail to the e-mail site provided - no response at all. I had Expedia contact them separately - no response - I wanted an early check in - but no one got back to me - it scared me actually - because if no one is responding to routine requests - what happens if there is a legit problem? When I checked in - I got a different number - which - somebody actually answered the phone. The client service was still poor (I needed TP and towels) - but after 2 days - someone did come and leave the stuff. All told - the hotel is what it is - a no frill, no service room - don't book this place if you want any customer service at all - book it if you are cool with just any room in Iceland. Ultimately - I'm glad I stayed here because the location and price points - but buyer beware.

Quirky room. Sadly I never did stay in it because they only had blinds for the window but not the glass door. With night being light, it is impossible to sleep with light coming into the room. Construction was also going on (not the hotel’s fault). However, the instructions do list an elevator, but for the life of me, I couldn’t find it on the ground floor. So I had to lug 80lbs of luggage up 3 flights of stairs.

The apartment we stayed in for the week was clean and well kept. The location was great. Comfy bed, super hot water and great water pressure The apartment had a small kitchen with a microwave, dishes, coffemaker and the market is right down the street. This unit even had a balcony! This is located on the quietier end of the street. Just a couple blocks West are many bars and restaurants. Never received check-in instructions via email, but the gentleman at the bar was able to contact the management on our behalf and get our codes. Be sure to pack soap and shampoo. There was supposed to be a hairdryer, but there wasn't one. Very limited tv channels, like 5, and two were kids programming so plan ahead. Overall great place and I will stay there again on my next trip to Iceland.

Just wanted to post my two cents, I got an email about the check-in details and it did not have the right information on it, I was told i was staying in room OK2 but there is no room that is called that, had to check the video on how to check in just to make sure i was going into the right room, replied to the email asking if room 202 was indeed the right room... Still haven't gotten a reply back, good communication right? The fridge door wouldn't close all the way 90% of the time, pretty sticky floors and dust on top of things... One more thing, the front door key code is the same as the room code on i believe all the rooms in the hotel, checked with other guests on that one, great security aye This hotel is cheap, if you just need a place to sleep and not much else then for the price sure...

The door was hard to find and the elevator did not lead to the floor we needed. There was a sewage smell to the water or drain. Other than that, the place was great. I love the decor and the location.
