Dunama Ocean View Hotel

This hotel Is in a great location, but a little older and needs updating. For the price it’s a good value. Breakfast is the same each day , would like more variety and the pool needs cleaning/ repairs. Rooms were clean yet basic, no extra amenities here. Some staff do speak English. Beach a 5 min walk , shops & food are close by , near marina for excursions - we did deep sea fishing & snorkeling

Worst hotel I've ever been to. Sold about 1 year ago. Very poor management. No casino. Pool was filthy! Breakfast was not made to order. Served rice and beans everyday and I told that I was asking for too much when I asked for toast. I dropped my toast on the floor and was told that I exceeded my portion. My room did not have shampoo. I paid extra money for swim out which I could not use. The pool was only cleaned the day an outside tour group came in and monopolize the pool with water pistols and loud children. Stairs to cove is unsafe. Beach does not have any furniture.

Upon arriving, its beautiful- on a cliff and its open to the Pacific Ocean- and BAM-you are hit with the loud music, that is bumpin ALL DAY. There were no towels in the room. The shower was stained and gross. My teenager got bites all over after first night. The air condition unit was so loud it kept us up. The beach is pretty but down MANY (200 ish) STEEP steps to get down to it. There were ants on the bar as I sat eating a salad, which crawled on my plate. The halls were dirty, with trash and leaves everywhere. THERE IS NO CASINO? Worst part: Someone entered one of our rooms one night- it was a family who checked in and was given keys to OUR room. Not their fault- so my husband went with them to the front desk : front desk did not explain what happened, ultimately calling the 'big boss' in who then accused us of not having a reservation for that room, stating that we only had one room (where our daughter was). accusing us with a raised voice to the point of shouting at my husband. had to go back to our room, get proof of our reservation (that had been paid fully up front) and then the big boss simply walked away, no apologies.

What other reviews said is true. Pool has mold all over wall and corners. The hot tub is even worst. Room towels stained, spring box of the bed with blood stain. Shower did not work 3 drops of water, . It is true. Wifi work well for me during my stay.

Rooms were great. Beautiful resort, great staff

We arrived at night and it was a little confusing to find the hotel. There are no signs pointing to the hotel and it’s hidden from the road. I love that security was always at the gate and was very vigilant. We went late September and it was nice having most of the hotel to ourselves. Service was great!! The wait staff was too notch. Very accommodating and attentive. They were a good time. The pool was nice. Lounge chairs and full service. The swim up bar could use some TLC but still got the job done. There is an amazing gazebo over look the ocean and beaches. Breath taking views from the restaurant, balcony, and pool. The food was delicious. Cooked to order breakfast. I also had a shrimp cocktail that was to die for. Drinks were amazing as well. Fresh frozen fruit was used in my pina colodas and strawberry daiquiris. Yuuummm. My husband and I got a couples massage and loved it. The tables were close to the ocean so the waves crashing added a nice touch. Very clean. The mopped our room everyday and it always smelled and looked great after room service. My only negative comments would be the bed was very stiff and the shower wasn’t great.

We only stayed one night at the Dunama, but would definitely return. The setting is absolutely breathtaking!! The staff was amazing, specially the bartender Dillon. Only complaint is the cleanliness. Certain areas need a good deep clean and new linens/towels.

The room smelled a little damp. The bathroom was slimy. The pool was moldy. The breakfast was a very small portion, but it tasted good. My family and I were informed by the staff that it was only one drink per person and no refill… My room didn't have a hairdryer. The facilities were very nice with mageatic view. The hotel very well located, and had a very nice and private beach access. The grass could have been better maintained.

The service at Dunama hotel was spectacular the view is breath taking and the private beach is absolutely gorgeous.
