Ambassador Inn

This was an awful experience. The room was not dirty and stank. I told the front desk that our door did not close properly, he said okay and wrote it down and nothing was done about it.

No room service (no one brings fresh towels or takes trash, etc), poor cleanliness throughout entire building, thin walls. Positives are price and location - it’s barely a few minute walk to the boardwalk/beach.

Facilities and staff are great for beach area the only downside was the amount of noise every night until 3:30am never stay on second level patrons extremely noisy

It was an older hotel but clean and close to everything you would need,I would definitely stay again

This hotel had beds that were comfortable enough but it was hard to sleep with noise outside, music and motorcycles revving their engines, and the people next door played their TV very loud. If you just want to be close to the beach, then this work. If you are looking for comfort and a more updated hotel, you should look elsewhere.

We didn’t have hot water for our entire stay at the ambassador. I reported to the front desk 3-times. I was promised hot water for the the next day. Apparently a maintenance worker repaired and it only worked for less than 15-mins and I reported it again. And on the third day I checked out and we still hadn’t taken a shower for 3-days.

Too many bad things to say. Staff was more or less non-existent. Stayed three days and no one EVER came to my room to clean it. I had to ask, and they came and did only what I asked. Desk clerk failed to return my ID when I checked in and never contacted me about it. Once I realized and went to retrieve it was clear they knew about it but took ZERO action to return it to me, very bad. Room layout was very ODD, no chair or desk in the room. wow, Stay away, this place is awful.

Dirty

First our TV showed nothing but snow. The fridge would not stay closed. No ice onsite (had to go 2 blocks for ice at another hotel). Only 1 usable outlet by a sink. First morning had no power or lights. Had to move coffee maker to sink outlet to use it (short cord). TV remote did not turn tv on/off or adjust volume. Thin walls, so noisy neighbors kept us up half the night. Narrow stairway to got to the 3rd floor. The only redeeming factor was the location, close to the boardwalk.

Pictures are very outdated in website! The hotel could’ve been alot cleaner in general, stovetop didn’t work in our families apt. Our kitchen was very small and nothing in cupboards except 4 glasses and 2 small pots. The staff are all foreign and aren’t very helpful esp to females. Regardless of website, there is no housekeeping until checkout. It’s even difficult to get new linens as it is cleaned in the other sister bldg. Tidelands i believe the name is, is also where the pools are located. We only visited the bldg with the pool on 2nd floor and it was very simple and small so it was pretty crowded at times. The location is great! One short block from beach and near many stores restaurants, the arcades and rides. It was really loud a few nights with people partying and music blasting late. The police came but as soon as they left, the volume went back up. I wouldn’t recommend if you’re a very light sleeper. Overall good location, otherwise alot to be desired
