Property Notes

A damage deposit of GBP 300 is required. The host charges this 7 days before arrival. This will be collected by credit card. You should be reimbursed within 7 days of check-out. Your deposit will be refunded in full via credit card, subject to an inspection of the property. River house bookings will require a £300.00 deposit at time of booking and will be returned 3 days after check out. All damages caused to the property will be deducted from the deposit.

Beautiful facilities and great restaurants with friendly staff. Our room was in desperate need of a remodel. The ceiling leaked into the living room area (which was more concerning since we were ground level with rooms above us) and carpet and lighting certainly needed updated. Overall, it was an okay location.

"TERRIBLE!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!"

Staff was pleasant enough upon arrival. Our keys didn't work so we had to go back and get new ones made up.

We booked for two nights. We had no hot water the first night. They did nothing for us. Said someone would come in the morning and fix it. We needed to be on a tour in the morning that we had to cancel and did not get our money back because we couldn't shower. When I say the water was cold, it was frigid! I cried trying to race through a quick shower. They showed up in the morning and tried to fix it but couldn't. Then at noon someone else came and temporarily fixed it. We finally could shower but didn't get out of the apartment until 2:00pm. Wasted so much of our time. We also didn't have wifi the entire time. The manager, Jon, offered nothing to us for our inconvenience. I made the point to him that when you book a hotel you are paying to be provided beds, hot water, and wifi. We were denied two out of the three of those items. I asked for a partial discount for the first night. He refused. He didn't even offer us a free breakfast or another room to use to just shower. Nothing. He honestly said to me that if he was traveling he wouldn't expect a partial refund if he didn't have hot water or wifi. I think that's ridiculous. I hope all his future trips don't include hot water or wifi. In reading other reviews this property obviously has issues. We paid a premium for this hotel expecting classy accommodations. Instead we should have booked a value property. We would have at least had hot water and wifi. I do not recommend this place at all.

This property was not at all as it appears on the outside. It looks cute and fun and nice, but once we got our apartment, it was completely different. Everything is wrong. Our ceiling had a leak that we made them aware of. They said maintenance had already left so it’ll until tomorrow. No one ever came. We had mugs and pots in the ground to collect the drops of water. Too much to type here. But I would NEVER recommend this property to anyone!

Not easy to access the place to check in We arrived at 2.30pm hoping our 3 rooms would be ready. Told they might be soon and to come back in an hour. After returning, told the check in was 4pm and the rooms were still being cleaned. Returning at 4pm they were still not available. Did not get into them until just after 5pm. Not a great start for a one night stay. Reception said they would pass my concerns to manager. Next morning I asked if she had talked to manager and told no. He was in a staff meeting and was unavailable but she could give me his number to call later. I eventually asked where the meeting was, as I was not leaving before speaking to him. I had to go and get him as the receptionist wouldn't. We discussed the wait time checking in as check out was 11am and we didn;t get in until after 5pm. 6 hours to clean rooms ?? I told him I had taken pictures of the cobwebs all over the bedroom ceiling which definitely did not mean they were cleaned. He gave us a 30% discount on each room but the way the whole thing was handled by reception was totally unacceptable. Kudos for the discount but would not recommend this place at all. Reception were so rude and couldn't care less.

"It's was ok, but didn't love it."

The location was great.

The 2 br flat was kinda clean, but looked worn down and old. The pillows needed replacing. Did not feel like a cohesive, intentionally designed space. Maybe other flats are nicer.

"An enjoyable stay."

The appartment is a great location. A few minutes walk from the town centre and near place to walk my dog like the Ness islands. The appartment was clean when we arrived. Any queries I had were quickly cleared up by the staff who were very helpful. The kitchen had utensils needed and we cooked there every night appart from the last night when we ate out.

Although the appartment is described as serviced above the door and on Booking.com it isn't cleaned while you are staying there. This includes no change of towels or emptying of bins. So in effect the servicing is only when you leave the appartment. There wasn't any any equipment for us to clean, no dustpan and brush or extra bin bags left or instruction on where to take waste if the bin became full. If a self catering appartment is not serviced these things are needed in case of fullbins or spillages of food etc. I did feed this back to reception and their response was very positive advising they would put these items into the appartments.
