"Absolutely avoid — worst hotel experience in Brussels"

If I could give this zero stars, I would. Numa Lief is not a hotel — it’s a glorified self-check-in scam with absolutely no hospitality infrastructure in place. There is no room service, no reception, and not a single employee on the property at any point. You’re entirely at the mercy of a glitchy, unresponsive app that offers no real help. The rooms are dirty and neglected — the carpet is full of old stains, hair, and grime, and looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed in months. There is no daily housekeeping, no water bottles, and the AC doesn’t work. The bathroom and toilet are in separate, awkward compartments — poorly planned and far from clean. It feels like staying in an abandoned corporate dorm that’s pretending to be a boutique hotel. For €150 a night, this is shockingly bad value. Despite multiple complaints through the app, nothing has been resolved — no refund, no cancellation, no basic fixes. Do yourself a favor: do not stay here. This is not a hotel experience. It’s a tech-driven ghost property with zero accountability and even less service.p

"Robotic/No Staff/Hotel mechanics often don't work"

While the room was clean, most of the utilities did not work and all we could do was punch in a code that often did not work: Air conditioning would not go below 25C and windows do not open; Water took 25+-Minutes to warm up; Electrical outlet by bed for charging often did not work; Elevator caught us for almost an hour until another guest opened it; The neighborhood is not in Central but about a mile away through area not to walk safely; On a parking lot with a bar and loud shouting and dancing until very late; and I could go on and on. On top of all that, the only communication is via text to Berlin, where over 20 texts asking for help messages were not understood and not fully answered by a Robot program. It was as if a rogue Hal from 2001 Space Odyssey was in charge.

"Excellent Accommodation in Great Location"

Our accommodation consisted of a bedroom, lounge, bathroom, WC and hallway. It was very well appointed and clean. The super king bed was very comfortable. We had a bath and walk in shower. There is a communal washer and drier in the basement. Everything is automated from check-in to using the washer and it all works brilliantly. The location is great, 10 minute walk from the Grand Place but fairly quiet with a few bars, restaurants and shops nearby. I would definitely use again. Only issue was the steaming service on the TV was not working which was disappointing.

"False Advertising, No Elevator for Disabled Guest, Dirty & Unsafe"

Our stay at NUMA Lief was a nightmare due to systemic failures: We booked specifically because the listing advertised an elevator, but it was non-functional until the morning of check out. Our disabled member struggled with the 5th floor climb with no assistance for hours. The "solution" of moving to the 1st floor (actually the 2nd in Europe) still required stairs—unacceptable and illegal under Belgian disability laws. The room and stairs were dirty, and cleaning staff blocked exits with vacuums and laundry carts, creating safety hazards. Despite NUMA’s claims, it took hours to get responses, and only executive escalation prompted action. The offered 15% refund was insulting for this level of neglect.

"Muy buen hotel "

Hotel de check in automático. Hasta en el elevador tienes que ingresar tu número pin que te dan para poder usarlo. Las habitaciones se ven bien, el baño es amplio y la cama cómoda. Volvería a este hotel. Sobre la ubicación está relativamente cerca de los puntos turísticos, llegas caminando en poco tiempo

"Nice hotel with large rooms, no reception, pin code access - works well"

We had an accessible room with wet room, lots of space. Good bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. There are self storage lockers. There is no reception at this hotel and you are sent a pin to access the building and your room. This felt a bit weird at first, but worked really well and we had no problems at all. The hotel is a short tube ride from the main station and conveniently located for shops and restaurants. Kaffabar on the opposite side of the roundabout is excellent for breakfast.

The hotel is conveniently located between Gare du Midi and Grand Place and is easily accessible by metro, with the nearest station just a few meters away. Access to the building is only possible with a personal PIN code. There is no staff present on-site, and no breakfast is offered. Any questions or concerns must be addressed via WhatsApp or phone. The rooms are adequately sized, with a minimalist design. Daily room cleaning is not included and appears to be available only at an additional cost. The television features programming in various languages. Occasionally, unidentified humming noises can be heard within the hotel, although the location is otherwise relatively quiet. Luggage can be stored in a basement locker, though the number of lockers is limited. It is important to note that the overall standard does not meet the expectations commonly associated with a four-star hotel in Europe. Overall, those expecting the comfort and services of a four-star property will likely be disappointed. The establishment operates more like a guesthouse than a traditional hotel. The positive ratings may reflect a prior concept under which the hotel had on-site staff and broader services. The current lack of personnel does not translate into reduced pricing. The rate I paid was comparable to that of a well-equipped four-star hotel offering a full breakfast—none of which is provided here.
