Die zentrale und doch diskrete, zurückversetzte und ruhige Lage könnte nicht besser sein. Zu Fuss ist man vom Bahnhof in 2 Minuten beim Hotel oder wird mit einem Shuttle gratis abgeholt. In wenigen Schritten ist man an der zentralen Bahnhofstrasse mit zahlreichen Geschäften, Cafés und Restaurants. Im Hotel gibt es ein sehr reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet mit grosser Auswahl. Die Eierspeisen werden am Buffet frisch zubereitet. Die Zimmer sind sehr sympathisch eingerichtet, mit B&O-TV und Kaffee-/Teemaschine ausgestattet. Die Handtücher werden 2x pro Tag ausgewechselt. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Blick auf das Matterhorn. Der Bar-/Lounge-Bereich mit herrlichem Ambiente ist wirklich eindrücklich, ebenso die grosse, gut besonnte Aussenterrasse. Jedes Zimmer hat im Skiraum eine eigene, belüftete Box für Skis/Schuhe. Zu Fuss ist man in 2 Minuten bei der Gornergratbahn oder ein Elektrotaxi bringt Gäste zur Matterhornbahn. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und geht auf individuelle Wünsche ein. Die Familie, die das Hotel führt, ist persönlich anwesend und begrüsst die Gäste bei der Ankunft oder beim Abendessen. Das Restaurant verfügt über eine ausgezeichnete Küche (mit elsässischem Chefkoch), eine exzellente Weinkarte und einen herrlichen, offenbar sehr bekannten Weinkeller, der für das Abendessen reserviert werden kann. Tipp: Unbedingt Halbpension buchen. Ich kann das Hotel Alex in jeder Hinsicht empfehlen.

Uns ist während des Aufenthalts wirklich nichts aufgefallen, was Anlass zur Kritik geben könnte. Sogar das Wetter hat mitgemacht und wir konnten das Matterhorn in voller Pracht bewundern.

Was absolutely amazing. We had our room upgraded for free and were extremely grateful with what we had been given. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable and facilities were amazing and clean. My partner and I were checked in by a young lady called Alexandra (we believe) who was incredible. She regularly checked in when she saw us to see what we had planned and how those plans went. She gave great advice on things to do and in general i formation. She was the best! Thank you for making Zermatt our favourite place 🫶🏼

O hotel tem localização perfeita, incluindo quartos com vista pra montanha. Amei o cuidado da equipe, avisei que era uma ocasião especial e decoraram o quarto. Todos muito atenciosos! O quarto limpo e espaçoso, café da manhã com muita variedade e tudo gostoso. O hotel é enorme, a área do spa é incrível. Também amei a academia, a mais completa que já vi, tem até aparelho de pilates reformer. Foi um dos melhores hotéis que já fiquei!

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The cleanliness was outstanding—everything from the lobby to the rooms was spotless and very well maintained. The facilities were modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making the stay both relaxing and convenient.

We booked two single rooms as a package (“Unplugged”) via the tourist office for 320.- per room with breakfast and expected rooms with parquet flooring as shown on the website. Instead, we were given two stuffy rooms with a strong chemical smell. Even after leaving a window tilted open for more than 8 hours, the odor was still present. At 11 p.m., only the night porter was on duty—he didn’t answer the reception phone, and when I went down in person, he was unable to arrange a room change. In the second room, it wasn’t even possible to open the window in a tilted position. The next morning, I raised the complaint with the manager, who claimed we had received an “upgrade” instead of the single rooms we had booked. There was no openness to criticism, the service was poor, and the hotel itself is very outdated despite its good location. We will definitely not be returning.
