Alex Alpine Resort - Spa & Sports

The Alex is the quintessential Swiss resort hotel. From the moment you walk in the front door and are greeted by the happy staff, it just gets better. My wife and I have stayed at the Alex at least 5 times over the years, and each experience has been fantastic. The Alex is located within walking distance of everything in Zermatt. We occasionally will take a taxi if we are carrying skis, but the Hotel is centrally located. The rooms are different from those of a standard large-scale hotel chain. Each room has character, and they can be different, so tell them what you would like, and they will accommodate. All of the rooms are super clean and serviced multiple times a day, and we have never heard any noise from other rooms. The Alex has the most amazing amenities, breakfast is amazing, and dinner is Michelin quality. The hotel provides ski lockers, along with the restaurant and bar, and it has a pool table and a cigar-smoking room. Of course, there is also the amazing indoor swimming pool, with a jacuzzi. Just this past year, we found out that Alex had indoor tennis courts, which we took advantage of. The Alex is all you want and more.

Hotel Alex was recommended to us from friends. We stayed for 8 nights and could not be happier with everything. Food, Service, Amenities, location and the staff was second to none. Can not wait to go back next year.

Location, amenities, food and most of all attention to excellent service made this vacation one of our ultimate trips. The Perren family made us all feel like we were a part of their family.

Wonderful family-run traditional Swiss alpine Hotel in the heart of Zermatt close to the main high street, train station and the Gornergrat train line. The food is amazing including a lovely buffet style breakfast and great evening dinners including some memorable buffet evenings. Spent Christmas at the Hotel, lovely atmosphere and delicious meals. Hotel has a great swimming pool with spa facilities. Service is truly exceptional with long standing friendly staff. Highly recommended.
