Chateau de Chissay

Beautiful Château, excellent property and facilities, very professional and courteous staff. Excellent dining. Isabella at the reception and office is a true gem and a very kind host. Many thanks to her, she single handedly made our visit the most memorable! Can’t wait for our return trip. Highly recommended for a grand stay near Château Chenonceau and Amboise.

This was an amazing stay. I would stay here again! We asked for a fan (no A/C) but there were none available. Beautifully kept grounds and attentive staff.

A stay here in this impressive old building is sure to be a memorable experience. That is definitely enhanced by the friendly and efficient young staff, always helpful. Our 2nd floor room was adequately comfortable, with a view on to the large central courtyard, with lift and spiral staircase just outside our door. The bed was very comfortable and we were pleased to have an excellent bath also. Buffet breakfast was satisfactory without being spectacularly good, perhaps a bit over-priced. We had dinner once in the restaurant, very good, music accompanying it too loud, 'Classic FM greatest hits'. We were pleased to have stayed here, an enjoyable part of our trip.

Very nice they upgraded us but then they had a electrical problem and lights were out in more in most of the chateau for overy an hr, no check us or said any thing brough candles or any thing we juse sit in the dark. Also they don't tell you prior no tv in rooms they recommend other activities but wouldn't do any good with no electricity

Biking was a great experience, ask the front desk for details. Visit the Chateaus By bike. Lots of things to see.

Second time around was just as good as the first time, 20 years ago. Both trips were for wedding anniversaries and we love everything about it: centuries of history, proximity to the Chateaux de la Loire, magnificent grounds and architecture, and fine dining. This is place is quiet and, if you're hyper-connected, you may not appreciate the isolation as Wi-Fi access is limited to a small common area that also has a small TV in case you're desperate.

Very neat and authentic experience to stay in a castle with some interesting history. The staff were excellent. The location was a good base for an eRly start at Chenonceau before the crowds.

The service is perfect, the restaurant amazing. The decoration and equipment is a bit worn, but serviceable.

We loved our stay. The physical setting is fantastic and charming with real old world character. The staff were surprisingly and unfailingly cheerful and friendly. We had one lunch and one dinner and thought the food was fantastic and the dining room bright and warm. The room was clean and big and had a great view. The only negative is that the bathroom was still a bit primitive - with no stand up shower set up. It would not take much money to fix this.

The best ... a great castle with wonderful people helping in everything you need to enjoy Loira Valley
