Beautiful property, lovely staff.

Plugged in my charger behind the bed and the amount of dust on the skirting board was gross and the ceiling light had cobwebs in. Fire alarm going off at 4.30 am I would’ve thought someone would have apologised or said something when we checked out!

A grand old building in beautiful surroundings. The public lounge, bar and restaurants were lovely and bedrooms clean and comfortable. My small dog was made to feel welcome. Dinner was very good. Staff polite and helpful. Easy parking.

A clear indication of what floor the selected rooms are located on is needed before booking is confirmed. A simple floor plan would help. Maintenance required in both bedrooms. Plumbing, electrics and security issues need addressing in Elan and Dylan Thomas Junior Suite.

Very little! Col Powell room unsuitable for elderly/infirm with 4 unequal steps down to bathroom and surprisingly NO HANDRAIL! Evening meal was ok but for the price the food value was very modest / belly pork burger kebabs etc and a whopping £7 supplement for a modest slab of “skirt beef” steak These are minor points in the scheme of things and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Fabulous location. You approach through a tree lined road which suddenly opens into a gorgeous valley, with an elegant mansion nestled at the end which is Plas Nanteos. The hotel is beautifully maintained with all of its historic decor and features making a relaxing and unique stay. The bedroom was lovely and well equipped, with an amazing view across the valley. The staff were efficient and friendly, the food delicious with a good wine list and great service. Every thing was as good as it could be, and we will be returning.

Beautiful hotel in stunning grounds. Very comfortable, really friendly and helpful staff, good food. Gorgeous room and bathroom and wonderful old touches throughout the fantastic building like the old staff bells and flagstone floor

Sofa bed wasn’t fantastically comfy - but they never really are!
