We stayed in the family suite and it was very close to the beach and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and it was plenty of space for our family.

Amazing place , first arrived and the staff gave us water bottles, gift bag and towels, we had an amazing room which was away from everyone else. (Room 35) Big room , big beds and massive balcony , Pool is big and is 1,40 meters deepest. There is a jacuzzi. 1 minute walk to the beach and cafes and bakery’s close. Would recommend

I would give them 2.5 out 5 if it was an option here!! This was very much a holiday of two-halves and the Golden Beach does have a good number of things going for it; The location is decent - close to lots of bars on the edge of the strip, but far enough away that noise isn't a major problem. The strip is pretty chaotic once the night gets going if you're up there after midnight, so something to consider if you have a younger family. There are a couple of shops right on the doorstep for essentials, and Aldi around a 15 min walk away. The old town is about 1.5 miles away, so just about walkable if you're feeling energetic (the hotel is on a pretty steep hill, but it's quite short) - but only 5 Euro-ish in an Uber/Bolt. The apartments are spacious and cleaned every day, although we did have reoccurring issues with ants through the duration of our stay. Excellent air-con in every room of the apartment. The welcome pack with bag, milk, biscuits and reusable water bottles is a very nice touch. The receptionist (Gina) who checked us in on the first day was superb - a real asset to the hotel! The pool bar staff are great and the prices more than reasonable, even before happy hour! Unfortunately I think the negatives would out-weigh the positives; Sun-loungers - nowhere near enough for the amount of guests during peak season. As our holiday progressed it seemed to be earlier and earlier every day that people were out with their towels to reserve loungers. This is not policed by the hotel at all, despite being a policy they publicise with signage all around the pool - seemingly it's the responsibility of the life guard to monitor, but he spends 95% of his day on his phone.  As a family of 5, one of the main reasons we booked this place was due to reviews saying there were plenty of sun beds - this is absolutely not the case (there's somewhere between 30 and 40 IN TOTAL) and adds an extra stress to what is meant to be a relaxing break. We even had the ridiculous situation of having our towels removed at one point while there were countless other beds with towels reserving sun beds for absent guests while we had only been away from the pool area for half an hour to make breakfast - all very strange and left a nasty taste in the mouth. Very much felt like we'd been singled out for reasons unknown, despite not doing anything different to 95% of the other bed occupants by the pool. There were multiple groups who reserved sun-loungers very early in the morning and frequently didn't claim them until the afternoon. IMO this is really bad form, but if the hotel does nothing about it they're basically giving people no other option if they want to spend time around the pool.  As mentioned above, we had ants in the room thorough the holiday and flagged this repeatedly to reception. To their credit, they did at least attempt to resolve it coming down to spray the affected areas, but unfortunately the ants always returned. Fully acknowledged that as Portugal is a hot country (particularly in July), ants will be hard to stop! But we've been in Albufeira several times before and never had the same problem. The wardrobes in the bedrooms left our clothes with a bad smell and feeling damp. Beds are rock-hard. Not unusual for holiday apartment beds, but these felt especially uncomfortable compared to similar level of hotels we'd stayed at before. Overall, it's not a bad hotel - several good points, but think that overall the negatives left more of an impression on our holiday when comparing the Golden Beach to similar places we've stayed at previously in the Albufeira area, meaning that it's not somewhere we'd return to.

The place is lovely and clean and the staff are friendly.. The pool is tiny and don't know about the bar as there's never anywhere to sit as there's not enough space for the amount of rooms and people they have staying there. Apparently you're not allowed to put towels on the sunbeds to reserve them but if you don't get down before 8am you've no chance because people come down and put towels on them and dissappear for hours ,so you'll need an extra £10 per person for sunbed hire on the beach ,so bring plenty of extra money or just find a bigger hotel .

Location is just outside Albufeira, so it's relatively quiet but parking in the street can be challenging as there are many apartment buildings around. The 1-room apartment we got was nice and spacious, no complains. Prices at the pool bar are reasonable with a happy hour from 4-6pm

All sunbeds are reserved starting at 7.30-8.00 am by guests who clearly can't be bothered by the hotel rules. The hotel personnel should take this seriously and remove towels, books, etc from people who leave their stuff and go somewhere else for hours. The apartment did not have a dishwasher, otherwise the kitchen was nicely equipped Room service came at inconvenient hours (3-4pm), they should do the cleaning in the morning or lunch time at the latest.
