Great gardens. Great restaurant

Having to run the gauntlet of the smoking area going on paths….put it somewhere where only smokers need to go. Everyone wearing their robes all day . Yuk Poor spa treatments . No interpersonal skills and like a conveyor belt . Poor .

We held my Father’s wake here at the Lifehouse and it was perfect! We looked at various venues and from the moment we met Matt ( Events Manager at the Lifehouse) we felt in safe hands and indeed we were. We hired the two Thorpe suites merged into one room and the tables were beautifully decorated with white linen tablecloths and flowers picked from the garden that morning. The buffet was delicious, and the service was excellent. Matt was so welcoming and his attention to detail gave my dear Dad the beautiful celebration of his life that he deserved. I am so thrilled that we chose the Lifehouse. It was the perfect setting. Driving into the Lifehouse is very soothing, the grounds and gardens are beautiful, and it had a very clean smell in the entire venue plus it had a very soothing and relaxing ambiance. All of the guests who attended dear Dad‘s funeral commented on what a lovely reception it was. Thank you, Matt for looking after us, for being truly attentive, sensitive to our needs, and always responding quickly to our requests. I very highly recommend using the Lifehouse for a wake / celebration of life.

The hotel staff are unprofessional and talk between themselves at the bar In front of customers, they are more interested in finding out if they can go on their breaks than offering an engaging , professional customer service. The Hotel is not supportive of local business in Thorpe, after going to the local curry house to pick up a takeaway to enjoy in the room with my partner as I didn't fancy anything of there menu which was extremely overpriced, I was told it's company policy by the restraunt manager I I can not have a plate and cutlery to enjoy the food I want to eat with my partner. SPENDING £259 on a room for 1 night! I asked for a senior manager and there was no one available so I ended up using a teaspoon to eat the curry which is absolutely ridiculous and in the end gave up. The hotel is overpriced l, the staff are unprofessional and the company policies are ridiculous, Don't bother asking for a bucket of ice unless you want to PAY £10!! Completely discussing behaviour by a 4 star hotel...... DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY COMING HEAR ITS NOT WORTH IT AND THERE SO MANY MORE BETTER SPA HOTELS TO STAY IN THE ESSEX AREA L.

I like the walk in shower

Lack of bathroom essentials like soap shower cap also the bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly when I asked it to be clean the next morning also my bedsheet wasn’t change the next morning either also I asked for a fan and it never arrived until I asked a second time before I went to bed as the room is very humid and struggling to sleep the first night

The food menu has a lack of variety for different clients.

All food exceptional, evening meals and breakfast,. All staff very helpful and friendly. The grounds are stunning. Plenty of seating areas to relax and enjoy the beautiful gardens.
