It was okay. Staffing wasn’t great on the Saturday but Sunday was good. Hotel needs to regulate temperatures better to have a more comfortable stay.

Evening Food was very good, available until 830pm and room was comfortable, good shower. there is no gym at the hotel now which was disappointing as its in the description. Despite that very good value for money. Breakfast available from 7 but didnt try as too late for me. I would stay again.

"Should nit have been open during renovations"

We have just returned from a horrendous 2 night stay at the hotel. It was undergoing renovations in readiness for a wedding fayre on Sunday. The car park was full of building materials and contractors' vans so parking was limited. The newly laid carpet up the stairs had not been vacuumed and there was dust and fibres everywhere- not good for an asthma sufferer. The bar area was full of contractors repointing fireplace brickwork and various other trades. The bathroom tap spluttered out discoloured water so we needed to return to reception to ask for bottled water. As it was quite late, we decided to have a drink in the bar - there was a rolled up carpet in one corner, plastic wrapped large plants waiting to be distributed in another and the whole air, tables and chairs were just full of dust. We had one drink and retired to our room. Breakfast was served in the dining room which had not been sealed off so again was filthy with building dust. On the Sunday, we were waiting in the breakfast room for 15 minutes and eventually went to reception to ask if anyone was actually coming to take our order. They were more interested in taking round bacon rolls to the contractors who were obviously running behind schedule. The whole hotel should have been closed to guests for the renovations. Had we known about them prior to booking a non-refundable room we would have chosen a different hotel. Paying guests were not valued- more interested in getting people in for weddings.
