Royal Son Bou Family Club

The whole experience from the airport in Menorca, to the week spent at the Royal Son Bou was fantastic for a family. Everything at the hotel is done with young children in mind. The staff are all incredibly friendly and hard working. Our 2 year old loved Kiko-land and visited daily. You can sign your kid in and leave them for a bit or stay and play with them yourself. There's also a creche outside the main restaurant if you wish to make use of that. From reading reviews prior to our visit we were surprised at how overwhelmingly positive they were. After visiting the hotel, we now understand why. Hopefully we can return again soon.

Hotel was spotless, friendly staff, great facilities for kids. The beach in front is stunning. Evening entertainment was good for all the family. 2 bedroom apartment was ideal for a family of 5.

The room was up a stairs and didn’t have a lift so I had to leave the pram outside at night. The pathway to the beach wasn’t easy with a pram The food in the hotel was only ok- I wouldn’t recommend halfboard/all inc

We visited at the end of August as a group of 21 for my parents anniversary. We had a lovely week, enjoying the pools and beautiful beach. The water was so clear! The children really enjoyed playing in the waves although at times you did need to be careful and follow the guidance of the lifeguards. We stayed all inclusive. Food was lovely and my preference was Los Olivos restaurant. There were lots of healthy options and you could also indulge in the many lovely cakes and ice creams. Entertainment was good in the day and evening. Kids disco played all the classics. The pool party was a hilight with the slide and carpet. We also participated in aqua aerobics daily, yoga and stretch on the beach. Rooms were clean and spacious enough for 5, although the second bathroom is an added bonus it was tiny. Balcony was nice and spacious. We were on the second floor which was not an issue for us. Building is nice and secure and you need your key card to get access from the beach. The showers on the way back in were also really helpful. The resort was kept very clean which was a big plus, having stayed at a hotel which was not. The big positive for me were the friendly staff, who were very helpful. I would like to mention Magda, guest relations who went out of her way prior to our arrival to arrange a cake, cava and table for us all, for my parents anniversary. She also spent time arranging a boat trip and transfer from Fornells which was tricky with 15 of us. She checked in regularly and provided advice on bus routes and a trip to Mahón. We visited one evening and can highly recommend visiting the harbour, it was a beautiful sight. We travelled by bus which was straightforward and cheaper than taxi which I found expensive. Transfer from the airport was quick! Sun beds were not reserved at the crack of dawn which was a positive! All in all we had a lovely week at Royal Son Bou and couldn’t fault it.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at this hotel. This is our second time visiting and it was amazing from start to finish. There was so much for the children to do (ages 5 and 7), they loved Kikoland, the pools are amazing and we loved being a short stroll from the beach. We will definitely return!

Per chi ha bambini è l'ideale. È pensato a tutto. Mi è piaciuta molto la possibilità di poter fare la doccia anche al bambino nel pomeriggio nella zona "palestra" utilizzando appositi asciugamani. Avevamo il volo la sera, pertanto, grazie a questa cosa ci siamo goduti il mare lo stesso giorno e siamo partiti asciutti e puliti. La nostra vacanza è stata breve, pertanto non abbiamo girato. Ci siamo limitati a stare col bambino piccolo li. La spiaggia bellissima

Era muy cómodo y tenía de todo. El servicio excepcional y el buffet libre inmejorable. La ubicación genial porque lo tienes todo alrededor. Además al lado de la playa.

No me gustó que los apartamentos necesitan alguna que otra reforma, pero en general bien.

La atención de todos los trabajadores fantástica. Destacar a Dino de recepción, encantador a nuestra llegada al Hotel.

This was our 3rd visit to the Royal Son Bou Family club and once again we had the most enjoyable holiday and was better than last year . As the title of this review says the best just gets better. There is no element of the holiday that wasn’t exactly what I paid for. . All the staff are courteous and helpful and they genuinely want you to have a great time. Special shout out to Christina in the bar and Nana in the Los Olivios who were just so lovely. The entertainment team worked tirelessly day and night. I have no idea where they get the energy from. They create memories for the children that will last a lifetime time. Food and drinks as expected was exceptional. The food is freshly prepared and cooked with plenty of options, they cater for a lot of different diets. . The theme nights are a brilliant addition to the selection of food. Rooms are cleaned daily and any issues you find are quickly resolved. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We’ve already booked to come back next year. A lot of people we see there are repeat customers and speaking to them they are also booking to come back next year. That indicates to everyone how good the Royal Son Bou Family Club is.

Pros: great pools, kept very cean, with plenty of room eeven in peak summer holidays. Very close to a lovely beach. Decent (but not amazing) food. Helpful reception staff who speak perfect English. Good rooms. Cons: Kids club is not good: all ages put together in a massive, unstructured session with loads going on, really hard for younger kids / slighlty shy kids / those without a sibling or friend to find their bearings as it's so impersonal. We ended up hardly using it as our kid (who usually loves kids club) didn't enjoy it at all. The bar situation is poor. If I'd paid for all inclusive I would feel very hard done by as there is only one bar (there is a scond but it only serves the basics) and the cocktails are dreadful - over-sweet and water. Charged at premium prices for those not on all inc. Towel switching is a pain - I admire them making efforts to cut laundry, but we found it impossible to track down someone to swap our towels on the few days were were allowed, which meant we've been using the same towels most of the week. Just not practical.
