Property Notes

Guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID. The property will not accept expired licenses or passports. Billing information needs to be the same as the booking information. Full-service daily housekeeping is not available, except by special request. Housekeepers will remove trash and replace linens as needed. Our lodge does not have a 24-hour front desk. Our check-in times are 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Please contact us if you would like to check in early and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you will be arriving between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., please inform us and we will have a staff member available to check you in. Any check-ins after 8:00 p.m. will be assessed a fee of $20 per half hour. We will not accept check ins after 9:00 p.m. For arrivals into the Hilo Airport (ITO) after 8:00 p.m., the late check-in fee will be waived with proof of flight itinerary. We recommend Kona Airport arrivals after 6:00 p.m. DO NOT schedule check-ins with us until the next day. Our Front Desk hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm HST (09:00 - 17:00).Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Pleasant place to stay"

We enjoyed it quite a bit. We liked the kitchen in the room, and the common spaces were very pleasant. The nearby beaches were very beautiful. Having free parking was a plus. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

"One of the most memorable experiences!"

My husband and I had a fantastic time at the sunset and stargazing tour. Andras is very kind, meticulous and very knowledgeable! He is also extremely punctual and made sure we had a timely start and end to the tour as well as the most perfect sunset and stargazing experience. Stargazing was one of the most surreal and breathtaking moments of our Hawaii trip overall. He also makes sure we all get pictures to take back with us at each stop! Would highly recommend!

"Arnotts is a Rough place"

Place is kind of run down. Homeless people walking through the property and down the street. Room was small with a "summer camp" size bed and a shared common area with other people. Rough part of town, we left.

"Glampers dream!"

No pool or hot tub. There is a sweet spot on the ocean right down the street though! Walking distance too.

Arnott’s is a great getaway spot even though it is close to Hilo airport. It is rustic but very comfortable. Loved the laid back atmosphere.

"Stargazing Tour"

This review is for the Mauna Kea Summit tour. Our guide Andras was helpful and knowledgeable. This company does go all the way up to the summit. Keep in mind not all companies do. Also a plus they use a laser pointer instead of manual telescopes. This is way faster as the whole group gets to see much more than it would if you each took a turn. Bring food if going during spring or summer since you probably will get back to hotel after the kitchen closes.
