The Berkman

Stylish design, beautiful renovation, and a very comfortable atmosphere overall. It was such a nice change from many older Midwest American hotels that can feel outdated after 40–50 years. Spacious room, even though we booked a studio. Since the rooms are designed more like apartments, it truly felt comfortable for a family stay. My son even had enough space to sleep on the small couch in the living area. We had absolutely everything needed in the room: a full kitchen with all cookware and dishes, plus even a washer and dryer inside the unit. Lots of storage space: several closets and storage areas, which made it feel even more like home. Overall, The Berkman feels modern, practical, and thoughtfully designed, especially for families with kids or longer stays.

I was upgraded and it was spacious and clean.

No snacks, wasn't told pool couldn't be used and have to requesting a later check out and getting it approved One minute before we even checked out we had two cleaning people waiting right at our door and we're locked out and had forgotten a bag and it just made the whole process more anxious.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Berkman and would not hesitate to return. From start to finish, the experience was seamless. Check-in was quick and easy, and our room was spacious, spotless, and surprisingly quiet — even being on the 4th floor near the communal amenities. The bedroom is tucked into its own separate space, which made for genuinely restful sleep. Noise was never an issue, which I was initially worried about given the social areas nearby. Speaking of which, the 4th floor common area is a great feature — cozy lounge spaces, small private office rooms, coffee and tea, a pool table, shuffleboard, and access to the pool and outdoor area. Perfect for groups, but it never felt intrusive for those of us just looking to unwind. The app-based door and parking garage access was a nice modern touch, and I appreciated that they still offer traditional key cards for those who prefer them. Location-wise, we were visiting family and found the hotel to be ideally situated — walkable to restaurants and just a short Lyft from downtown. They also offer a shuttle to the Mayo Clinic, which would be a huge convenience for anyone visiting for medical reasons. Highly recommend The Berkman for a comfortable, well-appointed stay!

I've told several people that have went to Mayo that the Berkman is by far the best place in town to stay. There technically apartments with washer / dryer, full kitchens and everything first class - roomy with Marble / Corian counter tops. You do not feel your in hotel, but rather a rental place VRBO with all the amenities of a hotel. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the manager, John will do anything to make your stay more pleasant. By far the best place high end place in town and still economical, especially if your going to be at Mayo for a week - there is not even a close second and directly across the street from St Mary's Hospital - my wife walked back and forth every day.

This was our 3rd stay at The Berkman! It is absolutely the best! Sparkling clean, helpful and caring staff, excellent location, and so much more! We have stayed while completing medical appointments so the shuttle is a real bonus! We will be returning next week to stay while my husband has surgery. It is a great comfort to have The Berkman so close the hospital. Everyone there takes some stress away from a very stressful situation. Thank you!

Appreciate the cleanliness and convenience

Recently needed to stay at the Berkman in Rochester Mn for medical reasons. The suite was so clean, comfortable and hit all the marks for our 10 day stay. The staff was so helpful, shuttle service was so convenient and the area is lovely. Highly recommend staying at the Berkman.

Exceptional! Travelled for treatment at the Mayo Clinic. The Berkman staff was flawless and the rooms extremely clean and well appointed. Location cannot be better for St Mary's hospital, and is also just a quick drive to the Mayo Methodist campus. I could not have been more pleased. Things we needed to make a long stay more comfortable such as a recliner, blender and more were made available to us. The small grocery kiosk on the main floor was very handy and the common areas, including the workout room were clean and we took advantage of them. We will go back.

Our stay at The Berkman was excellent. Nicole Sullivan as always was very accompanying and quick to assist with our needs. The cleaning staff was very friendly and did a great job of cleaning our room.

pros: convenient & quiet location with grocery & restaurants near. Clean, lovely public spaces, friendly staff, access to shuttle & parking garage. Cons: very basic room with cheap furnishings, no dining table, limited thermostat control
