Room next to busy road

Beds were comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful

It was a bit cramped

Lovely warm welcome by the staff. Plenty of character and lovely fire burning. Food was excellent and piping hot. Room was spacious and clean. Plenty of parking space.

Nothing to dislike.

Room was average , bath panel hanging off, couldn’t get coffee pod machine to work no matter how hard I tried, rubbish electric shower, awful shower curtain ( personal peeve , I just think they are unhygienic) spiders webs around windows, only electrical socket I could access was under dressing table so had to get on my hands and knees to charge my phone 😂 The room was tired, it was ok for one night , but it was in need of a remodel . I sound super critical here, I just found it a shame the room was mediocre,because the staff and the pub are lovely, some investment spent on the room would command a higher night rate.

The food was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Although they do not serve food on a Sunday evening, the chef prepared a cheese board for us, which was much appreciated. The traditional breakfast was very good - we had the smaller size and struggled to finish as it was a very generous portion.

The room was overlooking the busy road. It was not too bad as we could close the windows, but if it had been hotter, then we may have found it noisy.

Location great, car park ample spaces. Probably all of the positives i can give

Room was cold, duvet thin, bath shower is of the height suitable for a sausage dog! Had to go to sleep in our thermals!! Then the restaurant, they have all i can describe as children working there, ordered drinks that weren't correctly made, ordered an expensive wine and were asked if we would a glass or use the coupe cocktail glass from our 1st drink!!. All 1st,2nd food choices weren't available and ended up with a charcoal steak and blackened chicken strips!. They sent a child over to check if food ok, but because we were staying and had already drank alcohol, we had no real choice but to try and eat what we could as its so remote! Complained about food and service but were told we had to pay as we had eaten out food, even though i had to cut 2oz of coal off my medium rare steak!! Never had such bad treatment, not even offered drink or something to make our experience slightly better. Very arrogant staff and we ended up getting straight into bed in our thermals, eating quavers that we had taken ourselves and a can of pop to take horrible taste of food away.
