The convenient central location was the only good thing about this accommodation.

Where do I begin? Upon arrival we were greeted by a pretty rude receptionist, who advised us that the door code to access our room was printed on the front desk for anyone to see. This feels very unsafe as it gives full access to the entire backpackers area. This brings me to my next point. The backpackers area, secured by a single lock (which we are not sure even worked) was home to 5 or 6 rooms. There were signs on each room advising guests to strictly NEVER lock the door. This made us feel unsafe, and gave a sketchy vibe. The bathroom was shared between all rooms, and it was absolutely disgusting. Messy, smelly, and damp. The room was okay, but the carpet was blood stained. Within the first 2 minutes of being in our room a young woman who did not speak English entered, looked around all confused, then left. We were flabbergasted but didn’t feel too bad since she was a woman (we were in a female only room). A couple minutes later, a MAN barged in without knocking holding up a cellphone. He was wearing uniform which indicated that he worked there. He scanned the room with his phone up by his head, muttered some sentences in a foreign language, sprayed a perfume bottle (??), then walked away. My friend and I were so absolutely baffled that all we could do was look at him with pure shock on our faces. This was an invasion of privacy and absolutely unacceptable. We could have been getting changed or having a private conversation - there is NO circumstance where it would be okay for a member of staff, male or female, to enter our room without knocking. We booked the female only room for a reason, we did not feel safe AT ALL at this accommodation, and we left having wasted $440. Yes that’s right, after this encounter our flight or fight as women was activated, and we left immediately. We had to book a last minute airbnb for triple the price, but that is how utterly disappointing and pathetic this place was. Honestly we deserve a refund. Save your money and don’t bother!

Good location to town but that’s it

The cleanliness was horrendous. The communal areas were filthy. The sofa was supposed to be blue but was brown it was that dirty. We were in a female only dorm but girls from mixed dorms were storing their stuff in our room and coming in and out at night because they didn’t want to change in front of men. Bedding had someone’s blood on it and blankets were covered in hair. Have pictures to prove. Will not recommend or stay there again
