Swainson on Bent

Everything about this place was amazing! It’s close to Rundle Mall and public transport, which made everything super convenient. I would definitely recommend this apartment ❤️ The stay was comfortable and enjoyable overall, and I’d happily stay here again.

Just a few small things I noticed during my stay — there weren’t many toiletries provided, the body lotion in the bathroom was empty, and there was a little bit of rust in the bathroom area. The TV also only had a limited number of channels available. Aside from these minor issues, everything else about the stay was great and I really enjoyed my time here.

Easy access to city/ Rundle mall

I have stayed at the Swainson on Bent on three occasions in two differing apartments. The customer service has always been great, until this stay. Lady I felt with was not helpful. Organised a parking pass for Carpark On Rundle St, she sent me a message approximately 1hr before arrival that this could not be provided to us, I sent a message asking why, never received an answer or even an apology. Parking has always been free till this visit, but I understand those sorts of circumstances do change, but the not providing parking pass (which we needed to still pay for parking with) when said it would be in lockbox with keys to access the unit, wasn’t great.

The accomodation met our expectations. A place to sleep in the heart of the city. Bedding was made up as requested and communication with the host was very timely and helpful.

There was a crack in the bathroom handbasin. There was no plug for the bathroom basin. There were a number of hairs in the hand basin and between the toilet lid and the cistern. The bath mat towel was too small and insufficient to prevent water from the shower spreading through the bathroom area. The mixer tap in the kitchen was loose. The kitchen bin did not have a lid. The TV could only be tuned to the ch 7 channels - did not appear to be connected to an antenna. The air conditioner has a single vent to the lounge / living / kitchen area. The bedrooms are not air-conditioned and would be "stuffy" in warmer weather: we were there when it was 27 degrees and while liveable, this would not be the case on a typical +36 degree Adelaide summer day. Pedestal fans in the bedrooms may remedy this issue. The window in the main bedroom looks out onto the shared level 1 hallway, external to the unit. The blind which we drew down over this window was not a blockout blind and a considerable amount of light from the external hallway entered the bedroom. While the bed was comfortable and the room well proportioned for two people, the bedroom was not dark and those who cannot sleep with light in a room may find this problematic. Pay close attention to the advertising blurb regarding car-parking. I initially understood the unit came with one paid carpark. I was informed after booking that I had to pay an extra $25.00 per day to use the car park. This could have been made clearer when I was considering staying at this property. In any event the car park was conveniently located to the unit and access was very convenient. Notwithstanding the additional charge for the carpark, overall, the fee for the accomodation and the additional fee for the car park represented good value.

Obtaining the entrance key and pass was very difficult as we arrived by taxi at the entrance to the apartment and had to try and find the lock box in the car park. As a single female, I would be very frightened if I had to go down that alleyway if it was getting dark.
